  • Publication number: 20120173250
Abstract: A suggested communication from a plurality of available communications for the user may be determined. The suggested communication may be created specifically for a user or for users in one or more categories. If the suggested communication is determined to be sufficiently similar to the profile of the user, the suggested communication may be provided to the user and the suggested communication may be removed from the available communications for the user for a period of time. A computer usage message may be received indicating whether the suggestion communication was acted upon or not acted upon. If the user responded in a desired way, a benefit may be provided to the user and an additional analysis of the response computer usage message communicated from the user may be performed.

  • Publication number: 20120170823
Abstract: Certain embodiments of the present invention provide a system and method for temporally aligning a plurality of cardiac image sequences. The method includes performing a locally linear embedding algorithm on a first set of cardiac image sequences and on a second set of cardiac image sequences. A graphical representation is created for the first set of cardiac image sequences and the second set of cardiac image sequences. A determination is made whether the first set of cardiac image sequences and the second set of cardiac image sequences were generated from a similar point of view. If a similar point of view is found, the first graphical representation and the second graphical representation are aligned using a minimization function. If a similar point of view is not found, the graphs are aligned with a template and then aligned with each other using the minimization function.

  • Patent number: 8213876
Abstract: A direct digital radio having a high speed RF front end in communication with an antenna, and a radio subsystem that can be configured to form a multi-channel, full duplex transceiver system. The high speed RF front end provides a digital signal to the radio subsystem. Each transceiver includes a waveform processing subsystem that makes use of a linear, phase-B cubic spline interpolating finite impulse response (IFIR) filter for filtering the received RF signal substantially entirely in the digital domain. The linear phase-B, cubic spline IFIR filter requires significantly fewer hardware components than traditional FIR filters and is ideally suited for implementation using Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) technology.

  • Patent number: 8213971
Abstract: A method and system for remote activation of computer based applications uses Simple Message Service (SMS) messages to inform a remote computer that an application should be activated. The SMS message may be sent by a cell phone or from a computer. The remote computer receives the SMS message, parses the message to determine the application to be started, and starts the indicated application. If the remote computer is turned off, the SMS message can be received by an SMS receiver within a modem which can be configured to start the computer so the application can be activated.

  • Publication number: 20120166425
Abstract: Systems and methods create a graphical representation of a research map that allows performance of search functions using the nodes of the graphical representation. In one implementation, a system includes a processor and a memory. The memory stores instructions that cause the processor to receive a query for searching a document repository and run the query in the document repository. The processor stores the results of the query and the query as a root node in a research tree. The processor receives a filter for the results of the query. The processor stores the filter and the result list for the filter as a filter node connected to the root node of in the research tree. The processor receives a request to view a document from the result list for the filter and stores the request as a document node connected to the filter node. The processor then creates a display of a research map that includes the research tree.

  • Publication number: 20120150820
Abstract: A system and method for performing testing of data at a data warehouse is provided. The methodology of the invention describes steps to develop and further invoke one or more data quality-accuracy test cases from a framework. The data quality-accuracy test cases check the sanity of the data stored at the data warehouse. The one or more data quality-accuracy test cases are developed based on at least one predefined strategy, which in turn are stored in the framework. The methodology further executes the developed one or more data quality-accuracy test cases as either batch or independently, based on the requirements of the test. Thereafter, the methodology maintains traceability of the executed test at the data warehouse, incorporating details from the development of the one or more data quality-accuracy test cases to the final output of the test.

  • Publication number: 20120151272
Abstract: A scalable and fault tolerant finite state machine engine, for example, for use in an automated incident management system, logs or records data in persistent storage at different points or levels during various internal processing of an event associated with an information technology element, and action taken associated with the event, by executing a finite state machine instance that encodes policies for handling incidents on such types of information technology elements. In the event that the finite state machine engine is shutdown during processing, the finite state machine engine is able to pick up from where it left off when it was shutdown, for each abnormally terminated finite state machine instance, by using the data logged in the persistent storage and determining a point of processing from where it should continue its execution.

  • Publication number: 20120145411
Abstract: A running tool has a stem for connecting to a string of conduit, a body, and a plurality of functional positions selected in response to rotation of the stem relative to the body. A feedback mechanism assembly is connected to the running tool and is operational with rotation of the stem relative to the body. The feedback mechanism assembly increases the torque required to rotate the stem relative to the body when the running tool has reached one of the plurality of its functional positions. The increased torque thereby provides a positive indication that the running tool has reached and is in the desired and proper functional position.
