  • Publication number: 20090063538
Abstract: Techniques are described for normalizing dynamic URLs using a hierarchical organization of a web site. Given web pages associated with a web site, an information extraction method is used to generate data structures that represent the content or structure of each of the web pages. These data structures are appended to the corresponding dynamic URLs. The modified URLs with the data structures are tokenized with the resulting tokens clustered to create a hierarchical organization. Nodes of the hierarchical organization may be merged based upon occurrence or patterns of content and structure. The merged hierarchical organization may then be pruned to remove irrelevant information and to reduce the memory footprint of the hierarchical organization. When a new dynamic URL is received, the new dynamic URL is matched to the hierarchical organization. Important parameters are taken into account and irrelevant information may be removed.

  • Patent number: 7499295
Abstract: This invention generally relates to discontinuous conduction mode switch mode power supply (SMPS) controllers employing primary side sensing. We describe an SMPS controller which integrates a feedback signal from a point determined by a target operating voltage to a peak or trough of an oscillatory or resonant portion of the feedback signal when substantially no energy is being transferred to the SMPS output. When regulation is achieved this value should be zero; the difference from zero can be used to regulate the output voltage of the SMPS.

  • Publication number: 20090055416
Abstract: A scalable comparison structure and methodology is provided that is suitable for comparing select data content in hundreds or thousands of files in an efficient manner. Section delimiters are defined to identify the sections of the files within which the select data content is located, and sets of unique sections are identified based on the select data content within the section. Thereafter, comparisons and reports are based on these unique content sections. If multiple files include a common set of data, a single unique content section is used to represent these multiple files. File groups are optionally defined, and different sets of select data content can be compared based on these file groups. The result of the comparison is presented in multiple hierarchical forms, including an identification of which files are different from each other, and an identification of the differences among the unique content segments.

  • Publication number: 20090043577
Abstract: A system and method for using bi-directional conversation data to improve signal presence detection are disclosed. The detector module is adapted to communicate with a signal enhancement module. The detector module collects data from a transmit direction of the connection and a receive direction of a data connection. The collected data from the transmit and the receive direction is used to classify at least one of data in the transmit direction and data in the receive direction. Responsive to the classification, the signal enhancement module enhances data in one of the transmit direction and the receive direction. Hence, data classification accuracy is improved by using data from both the transmit and receive directions. In one embodiment, the detector module applies a voice activity detection module (VAD) process to detect the presence or absence of voice data in the collected data.

  • Patent number: 7488930
Abstract: A multi-channel low coherence interferometer having sensing and reference arms, at least one of which has variable delay. The sensing arm includes an optical switch for connecting to two or more probe arms. The distal ends of the probe arms collect source light backscattered from a sample. The backscattered light collected by the distal end of a probe arm is combined with reference light and a low coherence interferometric signal is produced by a sweep of a variable delay of the device or a sweep of a variable frequency laser light source. The interference signal produced by the interaction of reference and sensing light at a detector measures backscattered light, which may be used to characterize the sample. The low coherence interferometric signals can provide information about the morphology, physical nature, composition, and properties of the sample.

  • Publication number: 20090034533
Abstract: A system and method for providing link, node, and PG policy based routing in PNNI based ATM networks is disclosed. A computer implemented method signals and routes a call in the network. Upon detecting the call's arrival, its service request is accessed. Upon determining that the service request relates to an attribute of a link, a routing path is sought that conforms to the service request, as by accessing information relating to the routing path and comparing the information to the service request. A conforming routing path is selected, and the call is routed via that path. A computer implemented method advertises an attribute of links, nodes, policies, etc. Data relating to the route's attribute can be provided to a node as a GAT IE component of a PNNI signaling setup message for multi-peer group networks, and advertised using PTSEs within a peer group.

  • Publication number: 20090037505
Abstract: A filter for high speed digital signal processing. In one embodiment the filter includes a linear, phase-B, interpolating cubic spline filter having a pre-filter section and an interpolating post-filter section. The pre-filter section may be formed to implement any one of a 1-4-1 cubic spline function, a 2-5-2 cubic spline function or a 1-2-1 cubic spline function. The post-filter may be formed using a plurality of running average filters arranged in a cascade (i.e., serial) fashion. The filter can be constructed using significantly fewer independent component parts for a given level of pass band and stop band performance criteria, as compared with a conventional finite impulse response (FIR) filter. The filter is thus ideally suited for implementation with very large scale integration (VLSI) technology, and in a wide variety of electronic devices where high speed digital filtering is required.

  • Publication number: 20090036160
Abstract: A direct digital radio having a high speed RF front end in communication with an antenna, and a radio subsystem that can be configured to form a multi-channel, full duplex transceiver system. The high speed RF front end provides a digital signal to the radio subsystem. Each transceiver includes a waveform processing subsystem that makes use of a linear, phase-B cubic spline interpolating finite impulse response (IFIR) filter for filtering the received RF signal substantially entirely in the digital domain. The linear phase-B, cubic spline IFIR filter requires significantly fewer hardware components than traditional FIR filters and is ideally suited for implementation using Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) technology.
