Patent number: 6762860Abstract: In a network photograph service which provides a digital photograph service on a network, a workload on a user to input a registration ID needed upon viewing an image is reduced. In a registration ID input screen 38, the registration ID and a registration password input to boxes 39 and 40 are stored by relating the two to the user ID of the user who has carried out the input. When the same user recalls the registration ID input screen 38, registration IDs 32 having been stored are displayed as a list. By selecting one of the registration IDs by clicking a display button 41, display of images managed under the registration ID can be requested.Type: GrantFiled: February 9, 1999Date of Patent: July 13, 2004Assignee: Fuji Photo Film Co., Ltd.Inventors: Michito Watanabe, Makoto Hara, Takashi Yatabe

Publication number: 20030115277Abstract: Image transmission via electronic mail is carried out more easily and at low cost. An image file managed by a database of a system of a service provider (center server) is disclosed on a network. The center server obtains various kinds of information (such as an image ID to specify the image to be transmitted and a destination address) input to the system by a service user who has viewed the disclosed image. Based on this information, the center server reads the specified image file from the database, converts the image file into an attachment document format, generates an image-attached electronic mail message, and transmits the electronic mail message to the specified address.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 9, 1999Publication date: June 19, 2003Inventors: MICHITO WATANABE, MAKOTO HARA, TAKASHI YATABE

Patent number: 6578072Abstract: In a network photograph service which provides digital photographic services on a network, only selected images are shown only to people that a user wishes to show the images, without cost and time upon or after photographing the images. Images registered with a database 16 and the names of albums having been registered (album 1, album 2, and album 3) are shown on a screen of the user's personal computer. The user relates the names of the albums with the images and the correspondence set by the user is stored in the system. When the album name is specified by a user, only the images belonging to the album can be browsed in a unit of an album according to the stored correspondence.Type: GrantFiled: December 31, 1998Date of Patent: June 10, 2003Assignee: Fuji Photo Film, Co., Ltd.Inventors: Michito Watanabe, Makoto Hara, Takashi Yatabe

Patent number: 6570569Abstract: A realistic image of buildings collapsing, as in a monster movie, is displayed. Each of the display blocks to be scattered after the collapse is previously set as collective movable display elements (1˜29), and objects (OBJ) simulating buildings and the like composed of display elements are structured and displayed. By separating the display elements, it is possible to create an image similar to concrete blocks after as actual collapse. Further realism is provided by changing the way the blocks fall upon a collapse of a building.Type: GrantFiled: October 7, 1999Date of Patent: May 27, 2003Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha Sega EnterprisesInventors: Masanobu Tsukamoto, Makoto Hara, Masayoshi Matsuyama

Publication number: 20020103718Abstract: When an order for printing image data is placed via a network, time necessary for reception of prints can be shortened and a DPE store can attract a user. The DPE store provides to the user a CD-R having viewer software and access information for accessing an order reception server of the store. The access information is input to a user terminal upon installation of the viewer software by the user. For placing the order, the user terminal accesses the order reception server 21 by using the viewer software, and information such as a charge per print and the time of delivery is transferred to the user terminal. The user confirms the information and transfers order information and the image data sets to the order reception server. The DPE store generates the prints based on the information and the data.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 30, 2002Publication date: August 1, 2002Inventors: Terumi Matsuda, Kazuo Shiota, Tooru Kurokawa, Makoto Hara

Publication number: 20020051150Abstract: In a printing service system for providing a service only to authenticated users by receiving authentication information from the users, authentication information issued by a service provider other than a provider of the printing service can be used. When a user who has not registered with the printing service system but has registered with a collaborating service provider uses the printing service, authentication information issued by the collaborating service provider is input from a personal computer to authentication means. The authentication means asks a system of the collaborating service provider about the authentication information and obtains information of affirmation or denial of the authentication information. Based on this result, the authentication means judges whether or not the user accessing the printing service system can receive the service.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 2, 2001Publication date: May 2, 2002Inventor: Makoto Hara

Publication number: 20020049794Abstract: At the time of ordering a print of image data via a network, agency information is input without carrying out a troublesome operation. Image data obtained by reading a film at a DPE store are written in a CD-R together with agency information representing the DPE store. By using a user terminal, a user orders the print of the image data written in the CD-R from a printing-order reception center. Upon ordering the print, the agency information written in the CD-R is transferred to an order reception server. After the print is generated, the printing-order reception center delivers the print to the agency represented by the agency information.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 3, 2001Publication date: April 25, 2002Inventor: Makoto Hara

Publication number: 20010019422Abstract: In a printing system for printing image data based on orders from customers, a load of a laboratory having a large amount of orders can be reduced. A user transfers order information and image data from his/her personal computer to any one of customer service systems. The customer service system receiving the order information and the image data generates flow information indicating an address of the user, a logistic code, or a laboratory specification, and transfers the flow information together with the order information and the image data to an order assigning system. The order assigning system selects one of laboratories to carry out printing, based on the flow information and a table in a database representing a relationship between the flow information and the laboratories. The order assigning system transfers the order information and the image data to the selected laboratory. The laboratory prints the image data, based on the order information transferred thereto.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 2, 2001Publication date: September 6, 2001Inventor: Makoto Hara

Patent number: 5241529Abstract: In a compact disk player a tray for carrying a disk is reciprocated between a loaded position for playback of the disk and an ejected position outside the player. The tray is locked up in the loaded position by engagement between a lock pin of a rotatable arm and a stationary rib fixed to the bottom of the tray. When a sliding plate comes to one of extreme positions in which a disk-reading device arrives in its standby position retracted away from the loaded position of the tray, the advancing end of the sliding plate pushes an unlock pin of the arm to rotate the arm, thereby releasing the lock-up condition of the tray which may now be moved toward the ejected position. The sliding plate is then backed off a little amount to be released from contact with the unlock pin so that the lock pin of the arm becomes ready for engagement with the rib of the tray when the tray again arrives in the loaded position.Type: GrantFiled: May 29, 1991Date of Patent: August 31, 1993Assignee: Nakamichi CorporationInventors: Makoto Hara, Suguru Aoki

Patent number: 5123001Abstract: A disk playback device with disk changer functions and having a stacker for storing two or more disks for playback allows a new disk to be added or disks to be changed without removing the stacker. The disk playback device is also convenient for playback of single disks not to be stored in the stacker. Transport of the disks is accomplished by displacement of holders in which the disks are individually received. When a disk is in the read position, it is clamped in place and the holder is lowered to a nonobstructing position to allow the disk to be read. The number of holders exceeds the number of stored disks, whereby a vacant holder is available for conveniently reading a disk not stored in the magazine.Type: GrantFiled: August 23, 1990Date of Patent: June 16, 1992Assignee: Nakamichi CorporationInventors: Niro Nakamichi, Makoto Hara, Yasuhiro Noguchi
