  • Patent number: 5660543
Abstract: A convection furnace is provided for brazing workpieces in a heated recirculating atmosphere, in which the workpieces are positioned within a heating chamber of the furnace and are alternately heated from different sides in a controlled manner such that a substantially uniform temperature is maintained throughout the workpieces while their temperatures are increased by the heated atmosphere, preferably an inert gas. The braze furnace is adapted to intermittently divert the heated atmosphere to one side of the heating chamber, through one or more stacked workpieces, to an opposite side of the heating chamber. As such, a pulsed multi-directional convective atmosphere flow is achieved through the workpieces that promotes a more rapid and uniform heat transfer to the workpieces. As a result, each structure as a unit reaches a suitable braze temperature more effectively and efficiently than previously possible.

  • Patent number: 5572419
Abstract: A control system having multiple control apparatuses connected by a data transmission path. Each of the control apparatuses comprises a communication control section, sequence control section, and positioning control section. The positioning control section of each control apparatus has a memory. A position controlling program is stored in the memory of a first one of the control apparatuses. The position controlling program has codes, each of which to be used by a positioning control sections of a particular control apparatus, for controlling its respective servo motor. The codes of the position controlling program are transmitted from the first control apparatus to another control apparatuses to cause the positioning control section of that apparatus to control its respective servo motor in accordance with the codes.

  • Patent number: 5462216
Abstract: In a process for brazing a metal in a continuous manner, a work consisting of a base metal and a part to be brazed thereto is disposed in a box-like heat retaining container which is opened at its upper portion to surround lower and side surfaces of the work and fixing the work by a retaining jig. The work within said heat retaining container is heated by a continuous combustion in a gas burner, so that the temperature of said work is risen to a predetermined preheating temperature. Then, the work is subjected to a soaking treatment at the preheating temperature by switching-over the combustion in the gas burner to a pulse combustion. The continuous combustion in the gas burner is restarted to rise the temperature of the work to a brazing temperature, and then, the part is brazed to said base metal with the temperature of the work maintained at the brazing temperature by switching-over the combustion in the gas burner to a pulse combustion.

  • Patent number: 4833372
Abstract: A control circuit can drive an electric motor such as a stepping motor and a DC torque motor within a wide supply voltage range so that its rotor follows a selected speed pattern without error. The control circuit includes a monitoring circuit for monitoring a level of the supply voltage to output a detection signal. The control circuit also includes a memory storing a plurality of speed patterns, the plurality of speed patterns corresponding respectively to different levels of the supply voltage. One of the plurality of speed patterns is selectively read in response to the detection signal. The electric motor is then driven in accordance with the read speed pattern.

  • Patent number: 4691153
Abstract: A method of controlling the positioning of a rotor of a stepping motor is disclosed. During the last step in a movement of the rotor to a desired rest position thereof, the windings of the stepping motor are energized so as to produce a first magnetic vector, a position indicated by the first magnetic vector being displaced from the desired rest position in the direction of the movement of the rotor by a predetermined amount. This displacement of the first magnetic vector causes the rotor to overshoot the desired rest position by such an amount that a positioning error of the rotor due to a hysteresis characteristic of the rotor in the direction of the movement thereof is compensated. The windings are then energized to produce a second magnetic vector with the position indicated by this second magnetic vector coinciding with the desired rest position of the rotor. The energization of the windings may be performed in small steps to effect a vernier driving of the rotor.
