  • Publication number: 20080294810
Abstract: When a device in a WUSB system is ready for transmission data upon reception of a data transmission request (WdtCTA) from a host device, the device outputs the transmission data at a time specified by the WdtCTA. Meanwhile, when the transmission data is not ready, the device estimates a preparation completion time for the transmission data, and when the estimated preparation completion time is before an earliest time at which the host device can retransmit the WdtCTA, the device sends an error response instead of a NAK response, to thereby request the host device to retransmit the WdtCTA. As a result, a data transmission efficiency between the host device and the device is improved.

  • Publication number: 20070253062
Abstract: Anti-reflection film includes a transparent support, at least one optical functional layer overlaid on the support, and a low refractive index layer, overlaid on the optical functional layer, and having a lower refractive index than the optical functional layer. An anti-reflection film producing apparatus to produce this includes a coater for coating a surface of the optical functional layer with liquid for forming the low refractive index layer, to form a coating layer. A dryer promotes drying of the coating layer. A heater hardens the coating layer from the dryer at a first temperature level, and then hardens the coating layer at a second temperature level higher than the first temperature level, to form the low refractive index layer. Preferably, a difference between the first and second temperature levels is 1-50 deg. C. Also, ultraviolet rays are applied to the low refractive index layer after the hardening of the heater.

  • Patent number: 7136531
Abstract: An image encoder of the present invention includes an encoder unit for generating first encoded data, re-encoder unit for re-encoding the first encoded data to generate second encoded data, parameter updating unit for updating of the encoder unit when the sum of data amount of the first and second encoded data reaches a target amount, and controller for starting a re-encoding process when the sum reaches the target amount. The encoder unit encodes still unencoded image data using all encoding parameters that are updated from the parameter that has been used at the beginning of the encoding of the source image data. The image encoder thus encodes image data into data having a desired data amount on a substantial real-time basis. When the encoded data is decoded, non-uniformity in image quality of the decoded image due to different numbers of encoding and decoding operations is controlled.

  • Patent number: 7106909
Abstract: An encoder (103) encodes image data using a first parameter Q1, and a re-encoder (107) re-encodes the encoded result of the encoder (103) using a second parameter Q2. When the encoded data size obtained by the encoder (103) exceeds a predetermined size, Q1 is replaced by Q2, and encoded data streams previously encoded by the re-encoder (107) are saved in a buffer (108) as those encoded by the encoder (103) after the parameter is changed. Upon executing a re-encoding process, the re-encoder (107) re-encodes encoded data streams previously encoded by the re-encoder (107) using a parameter that can assure a higher compression ratio than Q2.
