  • Patent number: 6336742
Abstract: This invention relates to an infrared clinical thermometer having a probe projecting forward from the main thermometer body. The probe is designed to be inserted into an ear canal and detect infrared radiation from a human eardrum in order to measure body temperature. A measurement start switch is located on the upper portion of the rear side of the thermometer main body, substantially in line with the probe. When the measurement start switch is pressed, the probe does not rotate or tilt, allowing a accurate temperature measurement to be obtained. The thermometer also has a display which shows the measurement results after the operation of the measurement start switch. The display is located on the upper portion of the rear side of the main body, so that it can be clearly seen as the thermometer is held by the operator.

  • Patent number: 6154862
Abstract: In a failure analysis memory for memory testing apparatus which has a failure data storage part composed of a failure data memory and a first memory control part and a mask data storage part composed of a mask data memory and a second memory control part, when the logical comparison result by the testing apparatus is a failure in the test mode, the first memory control part effects control to generate write enable data and write failure data in the failure data memory at the corresponding address and, in the remove mode, effects control to read out failure data from the failure data memory and provide it to the mask data storage part.

  • Patent number: 5989200
Abstract: Total consumed calories are indicated in an upper portion of a display. A life activity intensity of each of the past seven days and an average life activity intensity over the same period are indicated by a bar graph in a lower portion of the display. The life activity intensity is classified into rank I (light), rank II (medium), and rank III (a little heavy). A total exercise amount (i.e., total consumed calories) and a life activity intensity are calculated and automatically displayed at the end of a day.

  • Patent number: 5136817
Abstract: An automatic lapping apparatus for lapping a piezoelectric material has upper and lower lapping plates, and a carrier disposed between the plates, for holding a piezoelectric material so that it is sandwiched between the plates. The carrier is rotatable to lap the piezoelectric material parallel to the lapping surfaces of the plates while supplying a lapping slurry therebetween.
