  • Patent number: 6529374
Abstract: An electronic apparatus of the present invention has an electric fan in a casing. This electric fan generates air current between circuit substrates. The air current passes through the left-side gaps between the circuit substrates, and reaches the backside face of the electronic apparatus. The air current then passes through a power source substrate attached to a backside panel, and moves to the right. The air current then moves along the right-side inner surface and returns to the front side. The returned air is guided by a plurality of inner fins and then supplied to the electric fan. The heat generated in the casing is cooled by the air current circulating in the casing, and then conducted to the entire inner wall of the casing. The heat of the casing is then released into the atmospheric air through radiation fins arranged on the front face of the casing, the left and right side faces of the casing, and the front face of an open-close cover.

  • Patent number: 6389897
Abstract: The invention reduces the noise from a vibrating gyroscope used for detecting a turning angular rate, when the vibrator is subjected to external vibration. The vibrator is made out of a piezoelectric material. The vibrator vibrates in a driving vibration mode electrically excited in the vibrator and in a detection vibration mode occurring in the vibrator due to Coriolis force when the vibrator is turned. The surface of the vibrator includes a region where the stress induced in the vibrator due to the detection vibration mode is in a range of a local maximum. The gyroscope further has a damper, for reducing vibration sensitivity to external vibrations applied externally on the vibrator. The damper is made of a polymer and is provided on at least the region where the stress induced in the vibrator due to the detection vibration mode is in a range of a local maximum.

  • Patent number: 5569854
Abstract: An apparatus for transmitting and receiving ultrasonic waves has a transmitter for sending a pair of ultrasonic waves to a sample. The pair of ultrasonic waves have substantially symmetric waveforms with respect to zero sound pressure. One of the ultrasonic wave is separated from the other ultrasonic wave. An acoustoelectric, ultrasonic transducer receives the pair of ultrasonic waves affected by the sample. The acoustoelectric, ultrasonic transducer converts the pair of ultrasonic waves into a pair of electric signals accompanied by phonon-charge carrier interaction. Each of the electric signals includes an acoustoelectric signal insensitive to phase and a piezoelectric signal sensitive to phase. A processing device processes the pair of electric signals so as to remove the piezoelectric signal and obtain the acoustoelectric signal.

  • Patent number: 5444613
Abstract: A digital position signal generator suitable for gain control and other purposes. A typical embodiment includes a rotary disk notionally divided into a plurality of sectors of the same angle about the disk axis. Some of the disk sectors have radial extensions which are detectable by photocouplers. The photocouplers are fixedly disposed about the disk axis with angular spacings each greater than the angle of each disk sector. Thus, with the rotation of the disk, the photocouplers produce binary zero and one outputs in various predetermined combinations nonsequentially representing successive predetermined angular positions of the disk. A position data generator circuit such as a microcomputer is provided which has stored thereon meaningful position data sequentially representing the successive predetermined angular positions of the disk. Inputting each output combination of the detectors, the position data generator circuit puts out a corresponding one of the meaningful position data.
