    Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide a novel amidase that is useful for production of an optically active amino acid, and in particular, a D-amino acid, and a production method thereof. KNK1101J, a gene encoding the above amidase, a recombinant plasmid comprising the above gene, and a transformant into which the above amidase gene has been introduced. In addition, the present invention also relates to a method for producing the amidase, comprising culturing the Arthrobacter sp. KNK1101J or the above transformant, and collecting the above amidase.

    Abstract: A fabrication method of a semiconductor luminescent device includes forming a compound semiconductor layer having a structure in which a first conductivity-type clad layer, an active layer, a second conductivity-type clad layer are layered in order on a substrate, the second conductivity-type being different from the first conductivity-type and forming a low-refractive-index region in a waveguide in an area to be an end face from which an output light from the waveguide in the compound semiconductor layer is emitted, the low-refractive-index region having an equivalent refractive-index lower than that of another area in the waveguide. The step of forming the low-refractive-index region includes determining a width of the low-refractive-index region in a longitudinal direction of the waveguide so that an emission angle of the output light of the semiconductor luminescent device is controlled to be a desirable value, and forming the low-refractive-index region having the width.

The first intensity and the first reference intensity are of radioactive nuclides generated by a neutron capture reaction of a heavy nuclide or a fission product nuclide. The second intensity and the second reference intensity are of radioactive fission product nuclides except nuclides generated by a neutron capture reaction. The reference intensities are measured where the void fraction is known. Also a correlation curve of (az/a0) and a void fraction is evaluated. Finally an axial void fraction distribution is evaluated based on the value of (az/a0) and the correlation curve.

An electronic circuit unit includes a base plate soldered on the radiation conductor so as to be fixed on the sheet of glass; a frame body which houses a circuit substrate and is screwed on the base plate; and a cover for covering the frame body. The base plate has a narrow section that connects a soldering section and other sections of the base plate. The soldering section is provided with a protrusion that abuts on the radiation conductor such that a solder-accumulation space is formed around the protrusion. Furthermore, the base plate is provided with a plurality of height-adjustment portions disposed at different positions and distant from the soldering section. Each height-adjustment portion has substantially the same dimension as the protrusion.

    Abstract: A node of a multiple-node system includes a translation lookaside buffer (TLB), a cache, and a TLB snoop mechanism. The node shares memory with other nodes of the multiple-node systems, and is connected with the other nodes via a bus. The TLB snooping mechanism snoops inbound memory access requests and/or outbound memory access requests. Inbound requests are received from over the bus and are intended for the cache. However, the cache receives only the inbound requests that relate to memory addresses having associated entries within the TLB. Outbound requests are received from within the node and are intended for transmission over the bus. However, the bus coherently transmits only the outbound requests that relate to memory addresses that are part of memory pages having set shared-memory page memory flags. All other outbound memory access requests are sent over the bus non-coherently.

The system bus interface communicatively connects the processor units to the memory via at least the caches, and is a non-cache snoop system bus interface. The cache snoop interface communicatively connects the caches, and is independent of the system bus interface. Upon a given processor unit writing a new value to an address within the memory such that the new value and the address are cached within the cache of the given processor unit a write invalidation event is sent over the cache snoop interface to the caches of the processor units other than the given processor unit. This event invalidates the address as stored within any of the caches other than the cache of the given processor unit.

The present invention provides a dehydrogenase having the following physicochemical properties: (1) effect: to produce N-alkyl-L-alanine from pyruvic acid and alkylamine or dialkylamine using NADPH and/or NADH as coenzyme; (2) substrate specificity: to show activity to alkylamine or dialkylamine but not to ammonium; (3) optimal pH when using phenylpyruvic acid and methylamine as substrates is around 10; and (4) when treated at 30° C. for 30 minutes, the enzyme is stable at around pH 5 to 10.5.

Since not only the main lock variable LOCK is read, but is also the main lock variable LOCK in the locked state “1” is written, when a different CPU asserts a read signal READ immediately after this, the main lock variable LOCK in the locked state “1” is read from the lock register in the locked state “1”, so that the different CPU can not obtain a lock.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a transparent latch circuit capable of performing a scan test in general scan design (GSD). In the transparent latch circuit a test signal is at a Low level during normal operation. Since a latch stop circuit outputs a High-level latch stop signal, a slave latch circuit has a received signal pass through it directly and a master latch circuit operates as a latch circuit in response to a signal output from an inverter. On the other hand, a test signal is at a High level during scan test. At this point, the latch stop circuit outputs a signal complementary to the signal output from the inverter. Therefore, the master latch circuit and the slave latch circuit operate as latch circuits responding to signals complementary to each other. Thereby, the entire transparent latch circuit operates as a flip-flop circuit.

    Abstract: According to the present invention, there is provided a novel carbonyl reductase derived from a microbial belonging to the genus Ogataea and a DNA encoding the enzyme. By reducing ketones with the use of the carbonyl reductase, optically active alcohols, in particular, (E)-7-[2-cyclopropyl-4-(4-fluorophenyl)-quinolin-3-yl]-3,5-dihydroxy-hept-6-enoic acid esters can be produced. The carbonyl reductase according to the present invention is excellent in activity and stereoselectivity. Thus, according to the present invention, there is provided a process for producing optically active alcohols, which are industrially useful as intermediate materials for drugs, pesticides, etc.
