  • Patent number: 5839921
Abstract: A terminal extracting arrangement consists of a connector and a terminal extracting tool. The connector includes a connector housing having a terminal accommodating chamber, a tool hole and a flexible lance. The lance is provided with an engagement projection for engagement with a terminal, and a leading projection for engagement with the tool. The terminal extracting tool includes a rod-shaped leading end provided with a slanted face. In order to avoid a collision of a tip of the tool with a front face of the engagement projection, an angle .theta. of the slanted face of the tool is equal to or more than an angle .alpha. of a tangential line linking a sliding point on the leading projection with another sliding point on the engagement projection. In the relationship, both of the sliding points are included within a range of height H of the slanted face and the angle .alpha. is an angle defined by the tangential line and the inserting direction of the terminal extracting tool.

  • Patent number: 5791935
Abstract: A connector is provided which is mounted in a hole in a structure such as an automotive door and with an easy-to-handle fitting-completion detector with which whether connector housings are fitted to each other can be reliably checked. The fitting-completion detector (3) is mounted on one connector housing (1), with locking claws of its holding arms (13) engaged in locking grooves (7) in the one connector housing. The other connector housing (2) is provided with sloped release projections 11 that advance into respective locking grooves (7). The fitting-completion detector includes insertion prevention portions (14, 14'). While the connector housings are not being fitted together, owing to the insertion prevention portions (14, 14'), the one connector housing is prevented from entering the hole.

  • Patent number: 5749747
Abstract: A partial-fitting prevention connector which can be positively fitted relative to a mating connector, and is prevented from being only partially fitted relative to the mating connector. When the partial-fitting prevention connector (1) is fitted relative to a mating connector (2), a retaining member (25), formed on a lock member (22), abuts against a retaining projection (34) formed on the mating connector (2), and the lock member (22) is pushed against the bias of a spring (23) in a rearward direction away from the mating connector. After the lock member has moved a predetermined distance, lock release projections (26a and 26b), formed on the lock member (22), slide over lock release projections (42a and 42b) formed on a support structure (41), thereby pivotally moving the lock member (22).
