  • Patent number: 9592342
Abstract: An injection system for co-delivery of two medicaments (1, 2) having a drug delivery device (7) containing a primary reservoir (11) containing a first medicament (1) and having a secondary reservoir (5, 17, 30) containing a second medicament (2) where the drug delivery device (7) has only one dose setter (12) for the primary reservoir (11) and that automatically determines the dose of the second medicament (2). • Patent number: 9579470
Abstract: A dedicated needle assembly (300) that can be attached only to a dedicated drug delivery device (400) is disclosed. The dedicated needle assembly (300) comprises a connecting body (320) extending from a distal end to a proximal end. A dedicated mechanical coupling (310) is configured at the proximal end of the connecting body (320). The dedicated mechanical coupling (310) forms a releasable connection to a distal end of the dedicated drug delivery device (400). The dedicated needle assembly (300) may comprise a medicated module or, alternatively, a non-medicated module. In one arrangement, the dedicated mechanical coupling (310) is integral with the dedicated needle assembly (300).

  • Patent number: 9504791
Abstract: A medicated module for an injection system to co-deliver at least two medicaments is disclosed where a primary delivery device containing a primary medicament accepts a medicated module containing a single dose of a secondary medicament and where both medicaments are delivered through a hollow needle. The medicated module is user selectable so that it will deliver a priming dose of a primary medicament or both the primary and secondary medicaments. The module also contains a needle guard that locks after dose delivery. The needle guard prevents accidental needle sticks before and after an injection. A locking collar rotates during use as an inner protrusion follows three paths of a track located on the outer surface of a body housing. When the inner facing protrusion is in the third path, it encounters a hard stop and a rotational bias that locks the guard from further refraction and thus covers the sharp distal end of the needle.

  • Patent number: 9463285
Abstract: A medicated module for an injection system to co-deliver at least two medicaments is disclosed where a primary delivery device containing a primary medicament accepts a medicated module containing a single dose of a secondary medicament and where both medicaments are delivered through a hollow needle. The medicated module is initially in a locked state until attached to a drug delivery where interaction of the cartridge holder with the module bypass housing changes the module to a triggerable state. The medicated module does not require the user to manually engage a reservoir containing the secondary medicament. Instead, a biasing member automatically activates the reservoir when the needle guard is retracted when the module is in the triggerable state. The needle guard prevents accidental needle sticks before and after an injection, and locks after removal from the injection site.

  • Patent number: 9446198
Abstract: A medicated module for an injection system to co-deliver at least two medicaments is disclosed where a primary delivery device containing a primary medicament accepts a medicated module containing a single dose of a secondary medicament and where both medicaments are delivered through a hollow needle. The medicated module is initially in a locked state until attached to a drug delivery where a locking plate is moved to a triggering state. The medicated module does not require the user to manually engage a reservoir containing the secondary medicament. Instead, a biasing member automatically activates the reservoir when the needle guard is retracted when the module is in the triggering state. The needle guard prevents accidental needle sticks before and after an injection, and locks after dose delivery.

  • Patent number: 9440031
Abstract: The present invention relates to drug delivery devices. The drug delivery device according to the invention includes a housing with a needle holder suitable for attaching a needle unit to the housing at the distal end, and a cap being capable of covering the distal end of the drug delivery device and comprising a retaining member capable of securing the cap by engaging with the housing, the retaining member is prevented from engaging with the housing with the needle unit being attached to the needle holder. Furthermore, using a cap for covering the distal end of the drug delivery device is disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9440027
Abstract: A module assembly for use with an injection system to co-deliver at least two medicaments is disclosed where a primary delivery device containing a primary medicament accepts the module that has an automatic triggering system activated by a dispense interface needle guard. When the module contains a single dose of a secondary medicament, both the primary and secondary medicaments are delivered through a single dispense interface, preferably a hollow needle. The module assembly does not require the user to manually engage a reservoir containing the secondary medicament. Instead, a trigger automatically activates movement of a lower hub when the needle guard is retracted.

  • Patent number: 9402961
Abstract: A drug delivery device having a spring element that provides dispense assistance. The drug delivery device includes a variable dose setting mechanism, a fixed dose setting mechanism, and a mechanical coupling having a spring element. The variable dose setting mechanism is operably coupled to a first reservoir holding a first medicament, and the variable dose setting mechanism comprises a dose setter. The fixed dose setting mechanism is operably coupled to a second reservoir holding a second medicament. The mechanical coupling operably couples the variable dose setting mechanism and the fixed dose setting mechanism. Further, the variable dose setting mechanism is configured to set a variable dose of the first medicament upon activation of the dose setter, and the fixed dose setting mechanism is configured to set a fixed dose of the second medicament during variable dose setting.
