Patent number: 7472451Abstract: In a structure in which a middle portion of a wiper blade is pivoted to a leading end portion of a wiper arm via a pivot substantially orthogonal to an arm length direction so as to freely oscillate, and a supporting member supporting a portion closer to a wiper shaft than the middle portion of the wiper blade is provided in the wiper arm, the structure reduces a sliding resistance which occurs due to a movement of the wiper blade toward and away from a window surface. A stabilizer has an upper piece portion and a pair of side piece portions, a supporting concave portion supporting a wiper blade in an outward fitting manner is formed, and a plurality of ribs which extend toward the window surface are formed on inner surfaces of the side piece portions, thereby being in linear contact with outer surfaces of side piece portions of a support receiving body which is fitted to a first lever terminal end portion of the wiper blade.Type: GrantFiled: February 4, 2003Date of Patent: January 6, 2009Assignees: Mitsuba Corporation, Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Takeshi Hara, Takeo Suzuki, Mamoru Kagawa, Shunichi Koguchi

Patent number: 7448781Abstract: An external mirror includes an indicator light and a case with a protruding portion whose outer face is arranged more outside than an outer face of the indicator light. Even when the external mirror hits or bumps against an obstacle, the protruding portion is the first and likely only portion which hits or bumps against the obstacle thereby preventing the indicator light from being damaged. Therefore, the indicator light will have to be replaced less frequently, thereby reducing a burden on the user. Typically, the protruding portion is provided below the indicator light. Accordingly, the indicator light can be strongly protected with respect to the contact from a lower side of the external mirror, where there are generally a relatively large number/percentage of obstacles. Preferably, the indicator light has a convex surface lens which protrudes toward outside of the external mirror. Preferably, the protruding portion has a ridge line between an upper face and a lower face of the protruding portion.Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 2005Date of Patent: November 11, 2008Assignee: Honda Motor Co., Ltd.Inventor: Mamoru Kagawa

Patent number: 6854784Abstract: In an integral drip molding in which a window guard section 21 along the front window W and a roof guard section 22 along the roof R are integrally formed, a lip section that contacts the front window W or the roof R is of a double construction, having an outer lip section 25 and inner lip section 26. The inner lip section 26 in the roof guard section 22 is positioned within a concave groove 28 formed at the portion where the roof R and the side panel 3 are connected, so that water that is forced into the rear section of the window guard section 21 flows into the concave groove 28 through a space S between the two lip sections 25 and 26. Thus overflow of water from the rear end of the window guard section to the side window is reliably prevented.Type: GrantFiled: May 19, 2003Date of Patent: February 15, 2005Assignees: Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki Kaisha, Katayama Kogyo Co., Ltd.Inventors: Mamoru Kagawa, Hiroyuki Sase, Tetuji Tamura
