  • Publication number: 20240025679
Abstract: A sheet dropping portion abuts on a sheet conveyed in a first conveyance direction by a pair of conveyance rotary members from above to drop the sheet onto a placement portion by pivoting from an upper position to a lower position. The guide portion is arranged above the placement portion and extends toward the placement portion, and guides the sheet toward an abutment portion in a case where the sheet on the placement portion conveyed in a second conveyance direction opposite to the first conveyance direction by a reverse conveyance portion comes into contact with the guide portion. The sheet dropping portion located at the lower position overlaps a part of the guide portion when viewed in a rotational axis direction of the pair of conveyance rotary members.

Abstract: A guide portion guides a binding unit in a first direction and a second direction. The guide portion includes a pair of first wall portions, a pair of second wall portions, a pair of third wall portions, and a restricting portion. A first protrusion is engageable between the pair of first wall portions and between the pair of second wall portions. A second protrusion is disposed upstream of the first protrusion in the first direction, and is engageable with the pair of first wall portions and the pair of third wall portions. The restricting portion restricts entry of the first protrusion from between the pair of first wall portions to between the pair of third wall portions and permits entry of the second protrusion from between the pair of first wall portions to between the pair of third wall portions.

  • Publication number: 20240025693
Abstract: In a case where a binding unit performs a binding process at the corner portion on a first end side in a width direction of the sheet in the second posture, an abutment operation of conveying the sheet and abutting the downstream end edge of the sheet in a conveyance direction against the abutment portion, and a shift operation of moving the sheet to a position where the sheet does not contact a back side surface of the binding unit when the binding unit is in the second posture, on a second end side in the width direction with respect to a position of the sheet conveyed to the placement portion are performed. Then a movable turning unit turns the binding unit from a first posture to the second posture, and the binding process is performed by the binding unit in the second posture.

  • Patent number: 11370632
Abstract: In order to properly suppress a discharge defect corresponding to an image ratio of a sheet, in the case where a coefficient of friction is different according to the image ratio of an image on the sheet, an air blowing section is arranged to blow air toward a downstream side in a transport direction from between a downstream-side end portion of a first stacking section and an upstream-side end portion of a second stacking section. When an image ratio of an image on a sheet by an image forming apparatus is a first value, the air blowing section sets an air quantity blown to the sheet at a first air quantity F1, while when the image ratio is a second value higher than the first value, setting the air quantity blown to the sheet at a second air quantity F2 larger than the first air quantity F1.

  • Patent number: 10828925
Abstract: To enable a bunch of sheets to be reliably discharged to a stack tray, also in the case where weight of the bunch of sheets formed on a processing tray is large, upon receiving a printing command, a main body control section checks information on an ink discharge amount in printing on a sheet, the number of sheets, sheet type and printing mode (two-side/one-side). By this means, the section recognizes weight of the bunch of sheets formed on the processing tray, and when determining that the weight is heavier than predetermined weight, deceases an upper limit value of the number of sheets of a bunch of sheets formed at a time to report to a user.
