  • Publication number: 20020056765
Abstract: Sticking of carbon deposit to a passage portion between a seat portion and an injection port is reduced. An injection port 13 for injecting a fuel that is arranged to face a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine. A seat portion H where a valve element 8 comes in contact with a face of a valve seat 11 to intermit fuel injection is arranged at a place upstream the injection port 13. The valve element 8 is conical at a portion downstream the seat portion H to an inlet of the injection port 13. Sectional area of passage between the valve element 8 and the face of the valve seat 11 at the time of fully opening the valve element 8 is arranged so that sectional area of passage downstream the vicinity of the seat portion H is larger. A tapered face 17 having a bore not more than 1/2.5 of inner diameter of a swirl chamber 16 of a swirler 10 is formed on the valve seat 11 face downstream the seat portion H.

  • Patent number: 6260404
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a cylinder interior fuel injection valve and an apparatus for adjusting a fuel injection amount used therefor may sufficiently cope with a fluctuation in fuel pressure or combustion gas pressure that would occur in an actual engine. According to this manufacturing method, a position of an adjuster is adjusted (step 110), a fuel injection amount is measured (step 111), and it is judged whether or not the measured value of the fuel injection amount falls within a range of a rated value (step 112). Then, if the fuel injection amount is out of the range of the rated value, the process is returned back to the step 110, and if it falls within the range of the rated value, the process shifts to a subsequent step 113. Subsequently, a spring force of a valve closing spring is measured (step 113), and it is judged whether or not the measured value of the spring force falls within a control range (step 114).

  • Patent number: 5967423
Abstract: An improved fuel injection valve for improving the flow of fuel includes a vortex forming member and a needle valve having a planar surface on its leading end. A valve seat has a fuel injection nozzle formed therein and the needle valve opens and closes the fuel injection nozzle by engaging and disengaging with the valve seat. The vortex forming member provides a vortex motion to the fuel entering the fuel injection nozzle, upstream of a seat portion. The flat portion reduces the amount of surface area in which particles may adhere, thus preventing particles from adhering to the needle valve and reducing interference with the flow of fuel.
