    Abstract: A fuel injector cleaning apparatus comprises a platform including a delivery channel, a first orifice adapted for connecting to a source of cleaning fluid and in communication with the delivery channel. An outlet device has one end mounted on the platform and another end for coupling to a fuel injector. A switch device mounted on the outlet device is moveable between a first condition so as to allow the cleaning fluid flow out of the outlet device and a second condition so as to stop the cleaning fluid from flowing out of the outlet device. A pumping device has one end mounted on the platform and another end operably moveable so as to introduce the cleaning fluid into the platform and to the outlet device, whereby the cleaning fluid is released from the outlet device at a predetermined pressure so as to clean the fuel injector thoroughly.

    Abstract: A moisture repellant tread is provided for a positive displacement of moisture to secure the traction in the bottom of a shoe. The tread comprises a base plate and multiple short bundles of absorbent fibers. The base plate has a top surface locally bonded to the outsole with a lateral clearance between the base plate and outsole about the bonded areas, a bottom surface for contacting a floor and multiple closely arranged recesses open to the bottom surface and communicating through smaller openings formed at the top surfaces concentrically of the recesses. The fiber bundles are partially implanted in the recesses for displacing water absorbed from the floor upon contact through the openings at the top surfaces to the lateral clearance whereby the tread secures an increased traction as a wearer steps on the tread through the shoe even on a film of moisture.

    Abstract: Novel lycopene beta-monocyclase genes were identified and used to transform a host cell to produce ?-cryptoxanthin. The host cell produces lycopene and is transformed to express the novel lycopene ?-monocyclase that converts lycopene into ?-carotene. The host cell is further transformed to express a lycopene hydroxylase that hydroxylates ?-carotene to 3-hydroxy-?-carotene and a lycopene ?-bicyclase that converts 3-hydroxy-?-carotene to ?-cryptoxanthin. The host cell is grown under conditions whereby ?-carotene is produced which is hydroxylated to 3-hydroxy-?-carotene and which is converted into ?-cryptoxanthin.

    Abstract: Methods are provided for forming dual damascene interconnect structures using different conductor materials to fill via holes and line trenches. For example, a method for forming an interconnection structure includes depositing dielectric material on a semiconductor substrate and etching the dielectric material to form a dual damascene recess structure including a via hole and trench. A layer of first conductive material is then conformally deposited to fill the via hole with the first conductive material, and the layer of first conductive material is etched to remove the first conductive material from the trench and an upper region of the via hole below the trench. A layer of second conductive material is then deposited to fill the trench and upper region of the via hole with the second conductive material.
