  • Patent number: 5530698
Abstract: An ATM switching system which includes PVC allocation circuits corresponding to output queues. At the time of arrival of the leading cell of each burst data, if the output line has room, the PVC of the burst data is stored as information for admission and identification. The subsequently-arriving cells having the same PVC identification information as the stored identification information are input to an output buffer, and the cells of the remaining burst data are all discarded. Even when a plurality of burst data compete for the same output line, the fact that all the cells other than the first-arriving admitted burst data are discarded prevents the cells from being input other than within a predetermined bandwidth and localizes the burst data affected by the cell discarding due to output queue overflow.

  • Patent number: 5506713
Abstract: An optical switching system to which a plurality of input transmission lines and output transmission lines for transmitting optical signals are arranged and connected, and in which fixed length cells transmitted from the input transmission lines are switched based on the routing information contained in the cells and the switched cells are outputted to the output transmission lines includes: optical cell synchronizer portions for detecting the fronts of the cells and synchronizing the fronts of the cells incoming from respective transmission lines; a switching portion for converting respective cells the fronts of which are synchronized to those of different wavelengths by input transmission lines and for switching them based on the routing information in the cells; multiplexer portions for wavelength division multiplexing the cells switched to different wavelengths by input transmission line with respect to respective output transmission lines; demultiplexer portions for splitting cells wavelength division mu

  • Patent number: 5434676
Abstract: A video signal mixing apparatus for mixing a playback composite video signal produced by playing a recording medium and a graphics composite video signal generated on the basis of video data read from a memory device, wherein a vertical synchronizing signal of the playback composite video signal is forcedly generated in response to a vertical synchronizing signal of the graphics composite video signal to make the number of horizontal scanning lines of the playback composite video signal coincident with the number of horizontal scanning lines of the graphics composite video signal.

  • Patent number: 5355175
Abstract: A video mixing apparatus mixes a graphics video image and a playback video image at a plurality of mixture ratios in one image plane. Fade data indicative of the mixing ratio of at least one line of the playback video signal and the graphics video signal is sequentially generated in accordance with a predetermined order. The fade data is held into holding means and is outputted from the holding means synchronously with a horizontal sync signal. The levels of the playback video signal and the graphics video signal are individually adjusted in accordance with the fade data outputted from the holding means and the adjusted signals are added. The playback video signal and the graphics video signal are mixed at the mixing ratio set every line of one image plane.

  • Patent number: 5025192
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a discharge lamp comprising a light-emitting tubing equipped with an envelope having side tube portions of a graded seal structure; and cylindrical bases fitted on the side tube portions to cover the outer end portions of the side tube portions and fixed with a cement on the side tube portions so as to define radiating spaces. In this discharge lamp, cement-controlling members for avoiding the outflow of the cement filled in a gap between the outer peripheral surface of each side tube portion and the base into the radiating space are respectively provided in the bases. The cement-controlling member is composed of a first ring portion which stops up the gap, a second ring portion held in contact with the inner bottom surface of the base and a connecting portion. The outflow of the cement into the radiating space is prevented so that the base can be fixed strongly on the side tube portion.

  • Patent number: 4815131
Abstract: A digital audio channel selection circuit for a serial audio signal having two multiplexed channels. The digital signal is converted from digital to analog and applied to two separate sample and hold circuits. Sampling pulses for the two channels are obtained and are applied to the sample and hold circuits in different combinations dependent on how the two channels are to be output.
