  • Patent number: 6603399
Abstract: The present invention relates to a strip for preparing security elements for electronic protection of goods including a carrier strip with adhesive labels detachably stuck on, or of interconnected tags to be fixed to goods which are to be labeled or protected. Only a certain number of labels or tags have electromagnetically active or activatable security elements. The strip demonstrates a substantially equal level of detection in different surveillance systems. To this end, the security elements consist of at least two types of security elements which are detectable in different surveillance systems.

  • Patent number: 6585857
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method of manufacturing security elements for electronic article surveillance, the security elements being made of at least two layers, and to a security element manufactured according to the method The method comprises the steps of applying a first layer of a cellulose material in a still moist state to a second layer of a cellulose material, with soft magnetic elements which emit a characteristic signal in the interrogating field of an article surveillance system being added to one of the two layers; and subsequently die stamping or cutting out the desired shape of the security elements from the two layers in the dry state. The method provides a low cost manufacturing means for reliably operating security elements.

  • Publication number: 20030117247
Abstract: A configuration for minimizing and compensating for the Néel interaction between a first ferromagnetic layer and a second ferromagnetic layer on both sides of a nonmagnetic separating layer has an artificial anti-ferromagnetic layer system. The two ferromagnetic layers each being sublayers of an artificial anti-ferromagnetic layer system contribute to the minimization of the Néel interaction.

  • Publication number: 20030063492
Abstract: A digital magnetic memory cell device for read and/or write operations has a soft-magnetic read and/or write layer system formed of at least one soft-magnetic read and/or write layer, and a hard-magnetic reference layer system. The two systems are separated by a barrier layer. The soft-magnetic read and/or write layer is an amorphous layer with an induced or inducible uniaxial anisotropy.

  • Publication number: 20020149197
Abstract: Devices are disclosed for the display of the “activated” or “deactivated” state of electromagnetic or acousto-magnetic security tags, whereby it is possible to recognize, at a glance, whether the goods, for example on a pallet, have activated or deactivated security tags.

  • Patent number: 6441739
Abstract: A tape material (1) comprising a support layer (2) and a thin-layer magnetic material (3), which is placed onto the support layer (2), serves as a security material. In a surveillance zone the thin-layer magnetic material (3) emits a characteristic signal for the electronic surveillance of articles. The aim is to provide a tape material which allows for simple application of thin-layer materials on any support materials. To this end a transfer layer (4), which can be melted by pressure and/or heat, is provided for on the thin-layer material (3), and the adhesion between the support layer (2) and the thin-layer material (3) is less than the adhesion between the thin-layer material (3) and the transfer layer (4). Consequently, a hot-pressing die (7) may be utilized to transfer a desired area of the thin-layer material (3), via the transfer layer (4), onto the article (6a) or another support layer (6b).

  • Patent number: 6348853
Abstract: A system for the supply of forge-proof information about an article. The system has a first element characterized by an information content (I1) and a second element characterized by an information content (I2). Both elements are connected to the article. The two elements are linked to a logic connective where the information contents (I1) and (I2) are compared. One of the information contents relates to a statement as to whether the article is disposable or returnable.

  • Patent number: 6294037
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for joining a first web material to a second web material, in which the first web material is divided into individual sections of a predetermined length while the second web material is continuous. According to the present invention the method and device permitting sections of a first web material to be applied without waste to a second web material. With regard to the method, the first web material is applied to a substrate, by separating every two successive sections of the first web material (2) from each other so that they are spaced by a predetermined relative distance, and by applying the sections to the second web material at the noted relative distance.

  • Patent number: 6259368
Abstract: The present invention relates to an element for electronically securing articles or for sensor technology, comprising a striplike or wirelike Barkhausen material of given length, which in an external alternating magnetic field is excited to emit a characteristic signal, and a soft magnetic material which is associated with the Barkhausen material. The soft magnetic material comprises individual portions of a predetermined length, which are disposed at a predetermined spacing from one another, and that the portions of the soft magnetic material are positioned relative to the Barkhausen material such that the magnetic stray fields they generate couple with the magnetization of the Barkhausen material.
