  • Patent number: 4676565
Abstract: A connector adapted to be surface-mounted on a circuit board is provided. The free ends (soldering ends) of the termination legs (contact legs) of the contacts are led out of the connector in a single-row manner. The soldering ends are preferably placed on the line of section of the two possible circuit board-mounting planes (perpendicular mounting and parallel mounting). For a three-row connector, the soldering ends are spaced with a third of the spacing "t". The same contacts and soldering ends may be used for the perpendicular mounting as well as the parallel mounting. The contacts may be of integral design or of a multi-part design. Due to the U-shaped design of the termination legs or the soldering ends present for one or more rows of contacts, both surfaces of the circuit board may be contacted.

  • Patent number: 4668033
Abstract: A printed circuit board 1 formed of plastic material, with an upper surface 9, a bottom surface 10 and a plurality of side edges, with conductive paths 11 being provided on the upper surface 9 and/or bottom surface 10 to electrically connect the components to be mounted on such surface. A connector 2 having an insulating body 4 is provided on the circuit board 1 and in which reside contact elements 5 with terminal ends 13 and contact ends 12. The terminal ends 13 are in electrical connection with predetermined conductive paths 11 for providing a connection to the outside of the board. The circuit board 1 and the insulating body 4 of the connector 2 are integrally formed.

  • Patent number: 4639053
Abstract: A connector for a shielded flat cable (1) the connector having a connector housing (13) with an insulating body (15) arranged within the housing and a grounding sheet metal spring (20) contacting the shield (40) of the cable. The grounding sheet metal spring is formed and arranged in the connector housing in such a manner that the shield of the flat cable is directly contacted by the grounding sheet metal spring on one of the wide sides of the flat cable, and that, on the other hand, the grounding sheet metal spring urges the shield on the other wide side of the flat cable against a grounded component of the connector.

  • Patent number: 4556270
Abstract: The invention relates to a housing for a plug connector which can be detachably fastened on to a fixture which holds a matching connector. Prior art connectors have utilized housings with fastening elements which detachably fasten the connector to a matching connector. However, the prior art fastening devices have only provided one type of fastening for any given housing. According to the present invention, a housing is provided with a plurality of different interchangeable elements, each of which provides one of several possible types of fastening.

  • Patent number: 4536045
Abstract: A plug connection for a shielded flat or round cable. A shielded connecting element (80,85) is connected in one piece with the cable shielding (91,95). The shielding connector element includes a housing contact part (70,86) which is in contact with a part lying on the ground or reference potential. The shielded connecting element (80) for the flat cable (3) extends between the cable core (92) and the cable shielding (91) and is in connection with the ground or reference potential. The housing contact part (86) for the round cable (30) is spring-loaded on the inside wall of housing (1).

  • Patent number: 4421708
Abstract: High-strength filaments of dry-spun polyacrylonitrile are obtained by a process in which tension-reduced spun filaments are continuously stretched hydrothermally in one or more stages: where it involves several stages, stretching is carried out at a temperature of the stretching medium gradually increasing from stage to stage up to .theta.=.theta..sub.n and, in the final (n-th) stage, to a degree of at least 50% of the maximum degree of stretching; where it is carried out in a single stage, stretching is carried out at the optimal stretching temperature .theta..sub.n, after which the material is further treated in the conventional way, optionally with fixing of the stretched material to a pre-determined extent.
