  • Patent number: 4513715
Abstract: A distributor injection pump for internal combustion engines is proposed, in which the fuel is furnished to the injection valves of the engine by means of a distributor piston executing a rotational and reciprocal movement. The distributor injection pump is provided with a full-load stop dependent on charge pressure or atmospheric pressure, which cooperates with the system comprising a centrifugal adjuster and a governor lever group and, regardless of the sleeve position of a centrifugal adjuster, determines the position of the tensioning lever counter to the force of a governing spring and an idling spring with the aid of a control member resting on the tensioning lever.

  • Patent number: 4501252
Abstract: A fuel injection pump in which the beginning of fuel injection can be adjusted to begin earlier than normal, particularly during warm-up by means of an adjusting piston. The adjustment takes place by changing the tension of the return spring which cooperates with the fuel injection adjustment piston.

  • Patent number: 4483297
Abstract: A fuel injection pump is proposed, which has a centrifugal governor disposed in the suction chamber of the fuel injection pump, the governor having a sleeve displaceable on a piston, and a pressure chamber enclosed in the interior of the governor sleeve, the latter being defined by the end face of the piston. By means of a relief line of the pressure chamber which is opened in the offset position of the governor sleeve, the restoring force on the centrifugal governor is increased during starting by the amount of the pressure difference appearing at the governor sleeve. Beyond a predetermined adjustment of the governor sleeve, the relief line is blocked, so that the governor can function unhindered within the normal operational range. The hysteresis thus resulting upon the shut-off of the increased starting quantity improves the behavior of the engine as it runs up to operational speed.

  • Patent number: 4463613
Abstract: A calibratable turbine wheel gas meter includes a tube member having a lateral stud which carries a counter. An exchangeable measuring insert comprises an inlet member including an inlet body and an outlet member including an outlet body and is inserted into the tube member to abut a stop formed in the outlet member. Together with the tube member the inlet member forms a pressure space to measure the static pressure therein. The outlet member is formed integrally with the outlet body and is combined overlappingly with the inlet member. The inlet member and the outlet member define a passage in which the blades of a turbine wheel are located and the shaft of the turbine wheel is journalled in a bearing housing disposed in the outlet body. A pulse generator is arranged to cooperate with the turbine wheel and generates pulses, the number of which is dependent on the volume of gas passing through the passage. Each measuring insert is calibrated by comparison to a standard measuring insert.

  • Patent number: 4406268
Abstract: A fuel injection pump in which the beginning of the fuel injection is set to "early" during the warming-up of the engine by means of an adjustable piston. The adjustment occurs by shifting the adjustable piston by a control member acting through an adjusting member.

  • Patent number: 4312312
Abstract: The invention relates to a fuel injection pump in which, via an appropriate transducer, the temperature of the coolant of the internal combustion engine intervenes as a control value in the fuel injection pump regulation, in that at least two of the following three final control elements are simultaneously adjusted: A for the injection onset adjustment; B for the increased starting quantity; or C for the idling rpm.

  • Patent number: 4239025
Abstract: In an rpm regulator for fuel injection pumps of internal combustion engines having a starting lever, which is coupled on one side with a delivery quantity adjustment member of the injection pump and on the other side of which an rpm tachometer contacts the starting lever with an rpm-dependent force counter to an arbitrarily variable force of a main regulator spring and also counter to the force of a starting spring which is included in series with the main regulator spring and deformable up to a particular stop, it is proposed to provide a further stop which urges the starting lever counter to the direction urged by the starting spring, whereby this second stop is adjustable in accordance with the temperature in order to regulate the starting quantity. The temperature of the coolant, of the lubrication oil, as well as that of a housing wall of the internal combustion engine may be employed for this purpose.

  • Patent number: 4180040
Abstract: An improved r.p.m. regulator of a fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines includes an improved control spring mechanism. The control spring mechanism is connected to one end of a control lever which in turn is connected at its other end to a fuel supply quantity setting member. The control lever serves to actuate the fuel supply quantity setting member in accordance with the forces applied to the control lever by the control spring mechanism and an r.p.m.-dependent force applying structure which applies a force to the control lever in opposition to the force applied by the control spring mechanism. The control spring mechanism in one embodiment of the invention includes axially aligned tandem springs mounted between the control lever and a setting lever, a first connecting member and a second connecting member.

  • Patent number: 4177775
Abstract: A fuel injection pump in which the onset of fuel injection can be varied by way of a device operating in dependence on speed in a conventional manner by turning the roller ring which cooperates with a cam plate which in turn is connected with the pump and distributor piston. In accordance with the present invention the angle of twist of the roller ring is limited by a stop which engages this ring.
