  • Publication number: 20220109632
Abstract: Embodiments offer a cloud system allowing workload management through the use of a zone-compartment architecture. A routing engine extracts an identifier from an incoming request to a cloud system. The routing engine then determines from a mapping in a service mesh, a target compartment corresponding to the identifier. Based upon the target compartment, the routing engine receives an IP address from a registry of the service mesh. Using the IP address, the routing engine routes the request to the target compartment for processing by an application. A database of the target compartment is replicated within another compartment within a different zone, thereby ensuring high availability. Based upon a recommendation provided by the zone, the target compartment may be split or merged to accommodate variations in workflow. The mapping and registry are updated according to changes in the compartments.

  • Patent number: 11296908
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for an Ethernet Virtual Private Network (EVPN) Virtual Private Wire Service (VPWS) network with service interface-aware forwarding. In one example, a first network device signals to a second network device, using EVPN route advertisements, a multi-service service tunnel to transport network packets for a plurality of services. The services are identifiable by virtual local area network (VLAN) identifiers in the packets. The first network device is configured with a single transport interface for the service tunnel and the single transport interface is configured with respective service interfaces for the services. The first network device detects failure of a failed service interface of the service interfaces and outputs, in response to the failure, an EVPN route withdrawal message for the service tunnel that identifies the service corresponding to the failed service interface.

  • Publication number: 20220103551
Abstract: Embodiments improve error detection and recovery in media access control security sessions. A MACsec session is torn down after three liveness time intervals elapse without receiving a MACsec key exchange protocol data unit (MKPDU) from a remote peer. This delay between a cessation of effective network communication over the MACsec session and the expiration of the three “liveness” intervals results in increased packet loss and an increased network convergence time as a network continues to route/forward data over the MACsec session for a period of time after the MACsec session has entered secure block mode. To solve this problem, embodiments define a new alarm, called a MACsec link alert, which is raised earlier than a MACsec session timeout generated by traditional embodiments. The MACsec link alert is raised, by at least some embodiments, after a failure to successfully receive an MKPDU from the remote peer after a single MACsec “liveness” timeout interval elapses.

  • Publication number: 20220100773
Abstract: In accordance with an embodiment, described herein are systems and methods for providing a remote data gateway that supports peer routing for use with an analytics environment. In accordance with an embodiment, a data analytics remote data gateway server connects to on-premise data clients, via remote data gateway agents. If a remote data gateway server cannot reach a particular data client at its remote data gateway agent, then it can determine which other clients it can get requests from. To address this, the system can use a process of inverse proxy peer-to-peer routing—if a client has a request to be processed, but the server has not yet called into that client, then the client can hand off the request to a peer remote data gateway server, and the server can retrieve/process that request from that server operating as a proxy.

  • Publication number: 20220103473
Abstract: Disclosed embodiments utilize a layer three and/or layer four protocol to collect physical layer properties along a multi-hop network path between a source node and a destination node. The use of a layer three or layer four protocol provides an ability to span multiple links or networks between the source node and destination node, while also collecting the physical layer properties. Once physical layer properties along a network path can be understood, decisions relating to the configuration of the network path and/or whether to communicate via the network path are improved.

  • Publication number: 20220100751
Abstract: In accordance with an embodiment, described herein are systems and methods for providing a remote data gateway for use with an analytics environment, such as, for example, an Oracle Analytics Cloud environment, or a data warehouse or other type of analytics or computing environment. In accordance with an embodiment, the remote data gateway enables secure access by a data analytics warehouse operating in a cloud environment, to a customer's on-premise data, without migrating their on-premise data to the cloud. An on-premise data client exposes a port, which a data analytics remote data gateway server connects to, authenticates itself, and thereafter calls into the client periodically, via a remote data gateway agent, to check for subsequent requests, for example to provide on-premise data to the cloud environment, or to run data analytics on the on-premise data.
