  • Publication number: 20100247872
Abstract: A sheet of material suitable for roofing or industrial wrapping applications has an anti-skid surface formed by ridges of twisted tapes. The sheet comprises a woven scrim of warp tapes and weft tapes. Some of the tapes are twisted about their longitudinal axis, for example about 25 to 400 revolutions per meter, to form ridges having a height substantially greater than the thickness of the tapes. The ridges impart an anti-skid surface to the sheet. The scrim is bonded to a coating or film to make the sheet waterproof.

  • Patent number: 7804636
Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods and systems for testing the electrical characteristics of reflective displays, including interferometric modulator displays. In one embodiment, a controlled voltage is applied to conductive leads in the display and the resulting current is measured. The voltage may be controlled so as to ensure that interferometric modulators do not actuate during the resistance measurements. Also disclosed are methods for conditioning interferometric modulator display by applying a voltage waveform that causes actuation of interferometric modulators in the display.

  • Publication number: 20100236624
Abstract: Certain embodiments include interferometrically tuned photovoltaic cells wherein reflection from interfaces of layered photovoltaic devices coherently sum to produce an increased field in an active region of the photovoltaic cell where optical energy is converted into electrical energy. Such interferometrically tuned or interferometric photovoltaic devices (iPV) increase the absorption of optical energy in the active region of the interferometric photovoltaic cell and thereby increase the efficiency of the device. In various embodiments, one or more optical resonant cavities and/or optical resonant layers is included in the photovoltaic device to increase the electric field concentration and the absorption in the active region.

  • Publication number: 20100238934
Abstract: The present invention provides an efficient system and method for routing information through a dynamic network. The system includes at least one ingress point and one egress point. The ingress and egress point cooperate to form a virtual circuit for routing packets to destination subnets directly reachable by the egress point. The egress point automatically discovers which subnets are directly accessible via its local ports and summarizes this information for the ingress point. The ingress point receives this information, compiles it into a routing table, and verifies that those subnets are best accessed by the egress point. Verification is accomplished by sending probe packets to select addresses on the subnet. Additionally, the egress point may continue to monitor the local topology and incrementally update the information to the ingress to allow the ingress to adjust its compiled routing table.

  • Publication number: 20100231598
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for obtaining a font for a document includes determining each glyph of a font that is specified in contents of an electronic document, the determination identifying a subset of multiple glyphs included in the font, the subset determined on a first device that does not have the font stored thereon. The method includes generating on the first device a request to a second device based on the determination, the request identifying the subset to the second device. The method includes receiving, at the first device, information sent from the second device in response to the request and defining the subset of the multiple glyphs, the information not defining a remainder of the multiple glyphs other than the subset. The method includes generating on the first device a presentation of the electronic document using the received information, the presentation including the subset of the multiple glyphs.

  • Publication number: 20100229181
Abstract: Partition migrations are scheduled between virtual partitions of a virtually partitioned data processing system. The virtually partitioned data processing system is a tickless system in which a periodic timer interrupt is not guaranteed to be sent to the processor at a defined time interval. A request is received for a partition migration. Gaps between scheduled timer interrupts are identified. The partition migration is then scheduled to occur within the largest gap.

  • Patent number: 7793180
Abstract: A output storage latch within a combinational logic circuit may be adapted to form a scan flip-flop latch that supports both functional operation and scan chain testing of a combinational logic matrix included in the combinational logic circuit. A described master/slave clock approach allows the scan flip-flop latch to support receiving into a scan chain a sequence of test input data, execution of combinational logic matrix testing based on the test input data, and sequentially outputting test results to a test result register for comparison with expected results. The described scan flip-flop latch may be used along side unaltered output storage latches thereby allowing flexibility with respect to the number and placement scan chain test points within an integrated circuit. Use of the described dual-use scan flip-flop latch results in a less complex circuit design, reduced circuit area requirements and improved reliability.
