  • Patent number: 11463331
Abstract: Network communication events are filtered to remove the network communication events having a predicted unrelatedness to beaconing. Each network communication event has a timestamp, a source entity, and a destination entity. The filtered network communication events are aggregated by unique source entity-destination entity pairs. For each unique source entity-destination entity pair, the network communication events are timestamp-sorted, time differentials between the timestamps of adjacent network communication events are calculated, and a beacon likelihood metric is calculated from the calculated time differentials. Which of the unique source entity-destination entity pairs are indicative of beaconing are identified based on the beacon likelihood metric calculated for each unique source entity-destination entity pair.

  • Patent number: 11458986
Abstract: Various aspects of a system and method to provide driving assistance to safely overtake a vehicle are disclosed herein. In accordance with an embodiment, an electronic control unit used in a first vehicle is configured to detect a second vehicle in front of the first vehicle. A first position associated with the first vehicle and a second position associated with the detected second vehicle is determined for a first time instance. It may be determined whether a lateral distance between the determined first position and the determined second position is below a pre-defined threshold distance. A first alert is generated when the determined lateral distance is below the pre-defined threshold distance.

  • Patent number: 11463336
Abstract: Electronic conferences allow participants to join lectures, meetings, and other events remotely via connection of a computing device to a network. The quality received by each node may not be ideal, or even satisfactory. Presenters of the conference content are made aware of the state of the participants by determining, at the end device receiving the conference, a quality of the conference. A monitoring node, such as a communication device utilized by a presenter, may then provide indications of the quality received.

  • Patent number: 11461590
Abstract: According to examples, an apparatus may include a processor and a non-transitory computer readable medium on which is stored machine readable instructions that may cause the processor to identify Internet protocol (IP) addresses and connection attributes associated with the IP addresses. The instructions may also cause the processor to train a machine learning model using the IP addresses as inputs to the machine learning model and connection contexts as outputs of the machine learning model. The machine learning model may learn a first weight matrix corresponding to the IP addresses and a second weight matrix corresponding to the connection contexts. In addition, the connection contexts may be concatenations of the connection attributes associated with a corresponding IP address.

  • Patent number: 11455100
Abstract: A method for execution by a storage unit of a dispersed storage network (DSN) includes receiving a data slice for storage. A first bin that includes the data slice is generated and stored in a first location of a memory device of the storage unit, and a bin pointer that includes a reference to the first location is generated. A revision of the data slice is later received, and a second bin that includes the revised data slice is generated and stored in a second location of the memory device. A modified bin pointer is generated by editing the bin pointer to include a reference to the second location. A back pointer that references the first location is generated in response to commencing writing of the revised data slice. The back pointer is deleted in response to determining that the revised data slice has reached a finalized write stage.

  • Publication number: 20220300480
Abstract: A method and related apparatus adaptively control snapshot replication of a plurality of server snapshots in a multi-tenant public cloud using snapshot service. A plurality of snapshot requests are received from a plurality of clients in the multi-tenant public cloud and are each associated with a service level agreement (SLA). The SLA includes a corresponding completion deadline and a slippage penalty. A probabilistic model calculates, for active snapshot flows, a completion time for each of the snapshot requests. If any of the predicted completion times exceed their corresponding completion deadlines, a possible MISS event is produced for an associated first snapshot. The snapshot controller component, in response to producing the possible MISS event, minimizes a probability of breaching fulfillment times for the multi-tenant cloud. The slippage penalty is calculated for each of the plurality of snapshot requests. A second snapshot is identified from among the plurality of snapshot requests.
