  • Publication number: 20220224638
Abstract: A system and a method of preventing generation of duplicate network routes in a Software Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) are described. A network route management service receives network route information from a network device connected to a subnetwork present in the SD-WAN. The network route information is compared with a master network route information for identifying presence of one or more duplicate network routes in the network route information. Upon identification, the duplicate network routes are removed from the network route information, and the network route information excluding the one or more duplicate network routes is transmitted to the network device.

  • Patent number: 11388137
Abstract: An access point of a network configured to derive basic service set identifiers (BSSIDs). The access point determines a base media access control (MAC) address associated with an access point. The access point computes an offset for at least one radio of the access point. The access point determines a radio-specific MAC address for the at least one radio of the access point by incrementing the base MAC address by the offset. The access point then derives a plurality of BSSIDs for the at least one radio of the access point based on the radio-specific MAC address. In some cases, the access point determines a radio from which a BSSID is provided based on the BSSID.

  • Patent number: 11381500
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to assisting forwarding of multicast traffic over Ethernet Virtual Private Network (EVPN) from a multicast source to a host multi-homed to multiple provider edge (PE) devices. Embodiments are based on the inclusion of an Ethernet Segment Identification (ESI) to EVPN type-6 routes advertised by PE devices which received a multicast Join message. Other PE devices receiving such routes are able to determine whether they belong to the ES identified by the ESI and to determine whether they are designated forwarders (DFs) for the host. Furthermore, PE devices which are the DFs are configured to re-originate the EVPN type-6 routes, i.e. re-send the advertisements, indicating themselves as DFs. This ensures that a remote PE device associated with the multicast source will also send multicast traffic to such DF PE devices, which, in turn, would allow the multicast traffic to successfully reach the host.

  • Publication number: 20220210243
Abstract: An improved information management system that implements a staging area or cache to temporarily store primary data in a native format before the primary data is converted into secondary copies in a secondary format is described herein. For example, the improved information management system can include various media agents that each include one or more high speed drives. When a client computing device provides primary data for conversion into secondary copies, the primary data can initially be stored in the native format in the high speed drive(s). If the client computing device then submits a request for the primary data, the media agent can simply retrieve the primary data from the high speed drive(s) and transmit the primary data to the client computing device. Because the primary data is already in the native format, no conversion operations are performed by the media agent, thereby reducing the restore delay.
