Abstract: The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. A method performed by a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system is provided. The method includes detecting triggering of a first random access channel (RACH) procedure running on a primary stack at the UE upon detection of a RACH trigger condition on the primary stack, while the UE is connected to at least one cell, detecting triggering of a second RACH procedure while the first RACH procedure is ongoing in the UE, wherein the second RACH procedure is different from the first RACH procedure, enabling a dual active protocol stack (DAPS) capability to initiate a secondary stack for handling the second RACH procedure, performing the first RACH procedure on the primary stack and the second RACH procedure on the secondary stack, simultaneously, and disabling the secondary stack upon successful completion of the second RACH procedure.

  • Publication number: 20230071311
Abstract: Examples of the present disclosure describe implementing bitmap-based data replication when a primary form of data replication between a source device and a target device cannot be used. According to one example, a temporal identifier may be received from the target device. If the source device determines that the primary replication method is unable to be used to replicate data associated with the temporal identifier, a secondary replication method may be initiated. The secondary replication method may utilize a recovery bitmap identifying data blocks that have changed on the source device since a previous event.

  • Patent number: 11601899
Abstract: Techniques that provide link establishment between a radio equipment controller (REC) and a radio equipment (RE) in a fronthaul network are described herein. In one embodiment, a method includes performing, Common Public Radio Interface (CPRI) Layer 1 (L1) link auto-negotiation operations to establish a CPRI link between the REC and RE. A proxy slave may achieve a hyper frame number (HFN) synchronization with the REC at a link bit rate for a first CPRI bit stream and communicate the first CPRI bit stream and the link bit rate to a proxy master. The proxy master may communicate a second CPRI bit stream to the proxy slave to transmit to the REC. The L1 link auto-negotiation operations are completed and CPRI link is established between the REC and the RE when the REC achieves a HFN synchronization for the second CPRI bit stream.

  • Patent number: 11593235
Abstract: Example implementations relate to application-specific policies for failing over from an edge site to a cloud. When an application becomes operational within an edge site, a discovery phase is performed by a local disaster recovery (DR) agent. I/O associated with a workload of the application is monitored. An I/O rate for data replication that satisfies latency characteristics of the application is predicted based on the incoming I/O. Based on results of tests against multiple clouds indicative of their respective RTO/RPO values, information regarding a selected cloud to serve as a secondary system is stored in an application-specific policy. The application-specific policy is transferred to a remote DR agent running in the selected cloud. Responsive to a failover event, infrastructure within a virtualized environment of the selected cloud is enabled to support a failover workload for the application based on the application-specific policy.

  • Patent number: 11593634
Abstract: This disclosure relates to methods, non-transitory computer readable media, and systems that asynchronously train a machine learning model across client devices that implement local versions of the model while preserving client data privacy. To train the model across devices, in some embodiments, the disclosed systems send global parameters for a global machine learning model from a server device to client devices. A subset of the client devices uses local machine learning models corresponding to the global model and client training data to modify the global parameters. Based on those modifications, the subset of client devices sends modified parameter indicators to the server device for the server device to use in adjusting the global parameters. By utilizing the modified parameter indicators (and not client training data), in certain implementations, the disclosed systems accurately train a machine learning model without exposing training data from the client device.
