Abstract: A wireless mobile terminal works with an identification server to automatically identify a broadcast program/movie and then identify and connect to a networked media server to receive the identified program/movie therefrom. The terminal generates data that characterizes content of a broadcast program/movie that is send by the terminal and is playing external thereto. The terminal transmits a message that includes the characterization data and a request for identification of a media server from which the broadcast program/movie can be received. The identification server identifies the broadcast program/movie, and identifies a user viewed location within the identified program/movie that corresponds to what was sensed by the terminal. The identification server identifies an Internet address of a media server from which the terminal can receive transmission of the identified program/movie.

Abstract: A presence system in which communication terminals and a presence server may cooperate to provide status notifications. A communication terminal may provide the server a store message to suspend transmission of status notifications to that communication terminal. The presence server may be arranged so that in response to a store message requesting storage of status notifications the transmission of status notifications from the server to that communication terminal is suspended. Several approaches to release the suspension are provided. The presence system, communication terminal and/or the communication presence server may include hardware and/or computer code or software to provide the respective functions and operations.

Abstract: Methods of communicatively connecting a local application on a mobile terminal to a Web application on a personal computer and related Web servers and mobile terminals are disclosed. A first session ID for the Web application and a corresponding first code may be communicated from a connector application on a Web server to the personal computer. A second code and user ID may be communicated from the mobile terminal to the connector application on the Web server. The connector application on the Web server may be operated to determine whether the first code from the personal computer matches the second code from the mobile terminal and, if so, to communicatively connect the local application on the mobile terminal to the Web application on the personal computer.

Abstract: A mobile device and method are disclosed to provide location based content to a user of a mobile device based on the current location, wherein the provision of location based content depends on obtained location data. The mobile device comprises a location obtaining section for obtaining location data based on locations of the mobile device, location based content section for obtaining location based content, and a controller adapted to compare presently obtained location data with previously obtained location data and to select between a first operation mode and a second operation mode according to the comparison, wherein in the first operation mode the location based content section is adapted to provide location based content to a user of the mobile device according to the current location of the mobile device and in the second operation mode providing of location based content is suppressed.

Abstract: A device, method and system for handling received messages on a portable electronic device. The device includes a message handling section 12 to handle or route messages on the mobile device based upon whether the message is addressed to a port number assigned to an application on the mobile device. If the destination port number is not addressed to a port that is assigned to an application on the mobile device, and the message includes a link, then the message is opened automatically in a browser. Optionally, the link may be opened if the destination port number is within a range of port numbers or after requesting permission to open the message from the message recipient.
