  • Patent number: 7807128
Abstract: Multimetallic anionic clays (MACs) are prepared using economical raw materials or reactants and a procedure for obtaining a series of multimetallic mixed oxides derived from the thermal decomposition of the MACs which comprises: (1) dissolving water-soluble bimetallic and/or trimetallic sources in water, (2) dispersing and homogenizing separate water-insoluble divalent and/or trivalent metal precursors with a high-speed stirrer in order to obtain small and reactive particles; depending on the nature of the water-insoluble divalent and/or trivalent metal precursors, this process can be adjusted to a desired pH, (3) adding the suspension obtained in (2) to solution (1) with the reaction medium still dispersed to facilitate solid particle's reduction/dissociation, and (4) afterwards the slurry is aged for several hours and finally dried. This process enables raw materials or reactants to be easily handled, and eliminates unit operations involving product washing and/or purification steps.

  • Publication number: 20070127180
Abstract: A control circuit for a vehicle for, e.g., chassis leveling or other purposes includes a controller selectively sending drive signals to a load through a switch FET, and a BJT having a collector connected between the switch FET, an emitter connected to ground, and a base connected to a current view resistor for short circuit protection. An over power protection FET is connected to the controller and to the base of the short circuit protection transistor, with the gate of the over power protection FET being connected to the output of the switch FET. A time delay capacitor is connected from the base of the BJT to ground. With this structure, if a ground fault causes the BJT to turn on, and if the drain-source voltage of the switch FET exceeds the gate threshold voltage of the overpower protection FET, the overpower protection FET is turned on, resulting in turning off the switch FET and, hence, avoidance of high power draw through the switch FET.

  • Publication number: 20060189481
Abstract: A procedure for obtaining mixed multimetallic oxides derived from hydrotalcite type compounds, characterized in that the laminar metallic hydroxides obtained are constituted by three or four metallic cations, forming part of the sheets of the hydrotalcite type material represented by the formula: [M(II)1?x?y?zM(II)?xM(III)yM(III)?z(OH)2](An?y+z/n).mH2O. by a process comprising: (1) preparing an aqueous or organic solution containing three or more cations; (2) preparing an alkaline solution; (3) slowly combining solutions (1) and (2) to cause the co-precipitation of the cations in the form of hydroxides; (4) washing the precipitate containing the hydrotalcites with water, until removal of the non-precipitated ions; (5) drying; and (6) calcining the hydrotalcites.

  • Patent number: 7041300
Abstract: The vectors comprise a recombinant defective viral genome expressing at least one antigen suitable for the induction of systemic and secretory immune responses or an antibody conferring protection against an infectious agent. The defective viral genome comprises the genome of a parental virus having the viral replicase recognition signals located on ends 3? and 5?, further comprising internal deletions, and wherein said defective viral genome depends on a helper virus for its replication and encapsidation. These vectors are suitable for the forming of a recombinant system comprising the aforesaid expression vector, and a helper virus. The system is suitable for the manufacture of mono- and polyvalent vaccines against infectious agents of different animal species, especially pigs, dogs and cats, and as expression vehicles for antibodies protective against infectious agents.

  • Publication number: 20050252820
Abstract: Disclosed are sampling kits and sampling devices and uses of the same. A sampling kit is disclosed including a swab (10) with a handle (12) and a swab head (14). The kit also includes a container (30) with an optional closure (70). Sampling head (14) is detachable from the handle (12) by engaging the sampling head with engagement means and moving the handle with respect to the engagement means. The engagement means may be formed on the closure or on the container. After detachment of the sampling head from the handle, the sampling head remains in the container. The container may then be sealed using sealing means (220). Also disclosed is a sampling kit containing processing means for initiating sample processing of sample collected. The processing means disclosed is an absorbent cover means (88) which allows sample held by the sampling head to transfer to the cover means. In particular, the adsorbent material may be an impregnated paper which is capable of yielding amplifiable nucleic acid from buccal cells.
