  • Publication number: 20050016317
Abstract: The invention relates to a connecting element for the releasable connection of a first part with a second part, in particular a bowden cable with a lever wherein the connecting element comprises a housing which is rigidly mounted to the first part, an engaging element mounted to the second part and a slide having a receiving element complementary shaped to the engaging element for the releasable connection of the engaging element with the receiving element. The slide can inside the housing slide from a first position into a second position for latching the releasable connection between the engaging element and the receiving element. The connecting element further comprises at least one latching means for fixing the slide in the second position and at least one releasing means for manually acting onto the at least one latching means in order to release the slide from the second position for the unlatching of the releasable connection between the engaging element and the receiving element.

  • Publication number: 20040052775
Abstract: The vectors comprise a recombinant defective viral genome expressing at least one antigen suitable for the induction of systemic and secretory immune responses or an antibody conferring protection against an infectious agent. The defective viral genome comprises the genome of a parental virus having the viral replicase recognition signals located on ends 3′ and 5′, further comprising internal deletions, and wherein said defective viral genome depends on a helper virus for its replication and encapsidation. These vectors are suitable for the forming of a recombinant system comprising the aforesaid expression vector, and a helper virus. The system is suitable for the manufacture of mono- and polyvalent vaccines against infectious agents of different animal species, especially pigs, dogs and cats, and as expression vehicles for antibodies protective against infectious agents.

  • Patent number: 5642534
Abstract: The weir gate includes a pair of spaced juxtaposed guides that are disposed vertically on either side of an opening between the interior of a spa and a filtration cavity. A lower gate is fixed to and spans the guides in a generally vertical plane. A floating gate is disposed between the guides, and can be placed in an upper position to regulate the flow of surface water into the filtration cavity and in a lower recessed position adjacent the lower gate to provide access to the filter cavity. An upper latch mechanism holds the floating gate in the upper position so that it pivots in a plane generally orthogonal to the lower gate and its upper edge floats near the surface of the water in the spa. A lower latch mechanism holds the floating gate in the lower position adjacent the lower gate so that a user can access the filters without having to hold the floating gate down.

  • Patent number: 4844781
Abstract: The method is of the type in which carbon (3) is put into contact with a solution (2) of an amine compound in a bipolar solvent with the carbon being positively polarized relative to a cathode (5). According to the invention, the solvent is an organic compound, preferably an aprotic compound, having a high anode oxidation potential, and the solution is practically free from water.

  • Patent number: 4690738
Abstract: A method of electrochemically surface-treating carbon fibers, fibers treated by the method, and composite materials including such fibers. The method consists in positively polarizing fibers relative to a cathode in an aqueous solution of an electrolyte constituted by a weak amino base. Nitrogen-containing groups are thus fixed to the surface of the fibers thereby improving the adhesion of the fibers to the resin in a composite material constituted by carbon fibers embedded in a synthetic resin matrix.
