  • Publication number: 20150333995
Abstract: A system including first and second network nodes that communicate with additional nodes in first and second networks, respectively, using a shared communication channel. In response to detecting presence of the first network node, the second network node transmits a first signal to the first network node including a predetermined sequence known to both the first and second network nodes. The first network node measures a strength of the transmitted signal based on knowledge of the predetermined sequence and calculates a throughput metric (throughput referring to amount of information transmitted per second) based on the measured strength. In response to the throughput metric being less than a unification threshold, the first network node selectively transmits a unification request to the second network node. The unification request invites the second network node to coordinate operation with the first network node to reduce interference between the first network and the second network.

  • Patent number: 9094833
Abstract: A method for sharing a communication channel between a first network and a second network. The method includes transmitting a signal from the second network to the first network in response to the second network detecting presence of the first network. The signal includes a predetermined sequence measuring the strength of the signal arriving at the first network and transmitting a unification request from the first network to the second network when a metric based on the measured strength is less than a unification threshold. The unification request invites the second network to coordinate operation with the first network to reduce interference between the first network and the second network.

  • Publication number: 20150084255
Abstract: The present invention relates to a fastening tool for dynamically fastening parts for machining, said tool being formed by an annular frame (1) which is fastened to a rotary supporting means (2) arranged around the location of the machining tool (4) on a tool-holder head (3). The annular frame (1) incorporates a tamper formed by a rotating ball (5) and, in a diametrically opposite position, a tilting clamp (6) which incorporates a counter-tamper formed by another rotating ball (8). According to the invention, a cantilevered portion (9.1) of a part can be seized between the balls (5) and (8) of the tamper and counter-tamper in order to prevent bending and vibrations in relation to same during machining.

  • Patent number: 8684083
Abstract: A perforating gun designed to orient a charge holding structure (e.g., tube, solid rod) within a barrel of the perforating gun to be at the same position relative to a wellbore casing regardless of a position of the barrel of the perforating gun. A charge assembly receivable within the barrel includes the charge holding structure and first and second end caps that are rotatably interconnected to the charge holding structure and non-rotatably interconnected to the barrel. As the charge holding structure is always or substantially always designed to maintain a common orientation in relation to the wellbore casing, explosive charges associated with the charge holding structure so as to fire towards particular location on the wellbore casing may always or substantially always perforate such particular locations upon or after the explosive charges have fired.

  • Patent number: 8422571
Abstract: A method for simultaneous transmission in time and frequency of multiple communications of data using orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) modulation includes transmitting the multiple communications of data at a same time on a single channel. A first starting signal, transmitted using a first network device, and a second starting signal, transmitted using a second network device, are used in transmission of a frame. Properties of the first starting signal and the second starting signal for transmission of each of the multiple communications are modified by shifting a frequency of the first starting signal with respect to a frequency of the second starting signal so that remaining communications coincident in time and frequency with respect to a given communication are ignored. The frequency of the first starting signal is shifted an amount equal to a fraction of a separation between carriers of the OFDM modulation.

  • Publication number: 20120202174
Abstract: The object of this invention relates to a procedure for treatment, both preventive and corrective, of dental cavities. Said procedure consists fundamentally in irradiation of the dental surface to be treated with a Neodymium YAG laser in conformity with specific parameters and conditions, signifying an advance in respect of the state of the art in this field. In the case of the treatment of cavities for corrective purposes it is also necessary, among other stages, to apply a dental cementing and restorative biomaterial on the surface of the dental enamel or on the dentin in such a manner that irradiation by the laser produces microfusion between both thereof. The present invention also relates to the biomaterial used in the procedure described herein, preferentially based on hydroxyapatite, together with the use of the procedure and of the biomaterial in the treatment of dental cavities.
