  • Publication number: 20220184483
Abstract: A boot form for a hockey skate is made of multiple plastic materials having different hardness properties, or different flexural moduli, and is formed via an injection-molding process or another similar process. One or more of the plastic materials may be reinforced with fibers of glass, carbon, aramid, or another stiffening material to strengthen one or more regions of the boot form. For example, pellets of a first plastic material having a flexural modulus of approximately 190 MPa (e.g., a polyamide elastomer block amide) may be injected into a mold to form a softer upper region of the boot form. And pellets of a second plastic having a flexural modulus of approximately 20,000 MPa (e.g., a Nylon 12 with long glass fibers) may be injected into the mold to form a stiffer lower region of the boot form. Additional skate components may then be attached to the boot form.

  • Publication number: 20220179377
Abstract: Controlled appliance and method for controlling interactions between the controlled appliance and a remote control device. The controlled appliance comprises a BLE interface and an actuation module. The controlled appliance sets the BLE interface in a scanning mode where the BLE interface is capable of receiving BLE signals from other devices. The controlled appliance receives, via the BLE interface, a BLE advertising signal from the remote control device. The controlled appliance establishes a connection between the controlled appliance and the remote control device through the BLE interface. The controlled appliance exchanges data with the remote control device via the BLE interface. • Patent number: 11356338
Abstract: Examples can include an optimizer that dynamically determines where to place virtual network functions for a slice in a distributed Telco cloud network. The optimizer can determine a slice path that complies with a service level agreement and balances network load. The virtual network functions of the slice can be provisioned at clouds identified by the optimal slice path. In one example, performance metrics are normalized, and tenant-selected weights can be applied. This can allow the optimizer to prioritize particular SLA attributes in choosing an optimal slice path.

  • Publication number: 20220162737
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for in-situ etching of a wafer prior to physical vapor deposition, the method comprising the following steps. A sputtering chamber is provided, the sputtering chamber being collectively defined by a wafer handling apparatus and a magnetron. The wafer is placed into the sputtering chamber. A gas is introduced into the sputtering chamber such that the gas is separated into a plasma, wherein the plasma includes gas ions. A first negative potential is applied to the wafer using a wafer chuck of the wafer handling apparatus while a second negative potential is simultaneously applied to a sputtering target of the magnetron, wherein simultaneous application of the first negative potential to the wafer and the second negative potential to the sputtering target causes gas ions to eject material from the wafer and the sputtering target of the magnetron such that ejected material from the wafer and the sputtering target is collected onto a shield defined by the sputtering chamber.
