  • Publication number: 20200333753
Abstract: Controlled appliance and method for controlling interactions between the controlled appliance and a remote control device. The controlled appliance comprises a BLE interface and an actuation module. The controlled appliance sets the BLE interface in a scanning mode where the BLE interface is capable of receiving BLE signals from other devices. The controlled appliance receives, via the BLE interface, a BLE advertising signal from the remote control device. The controlled appliance establishes a connection between the controlled appliance and the remote control device through the BLE interface. The controlled appliance exchanges data with the remote control device via the BLE interface. Upon reception from the remote control device via the BLE interface of a command for controlling operations of the actuation module, the controlled appliance applies the command to the actuation module.

  • Patent number: 10801130
Abstract: Techniques for melt spinning and cooling of multifilament polyamide threads are described. The process involves multiple filament bundles spun alongside one another and cooled down separately by streams of cooling air flowing radially from the outside to the inside. Streams of cooling air are produced from a blowing chamber connected to a pressure source. Exhaust gases that occur during the spinning are removed through exhaust openings before the cooling of the filament bundles. An air pressure is set within the blowing chamber in such a way that the exhaust gases in the vicinity of the filament bundles are blown out through the exhaust openings from the inside outwards. A blowing box is assigned a pressure setting means for setting an air pressure within the blowing chamber, by which an air pressure for blowing out the exhaust gases can be set at the exhaust openings of a connection adapter.

  • Publication number: 20200304942
Abstract: To obtain a relative localization between a plurality of mobile devices, a first mobile device observes a second mobile device within a field of view of the first mobile device's camera at time t1, determines a first position of the first mobile device at t1, and receives from the second mobile device a second position of the second mobile device at t1. The first mobile device determines information about the first mobile device's orientation with respect to the second mobile device at t1 based at least in part on the first position and the observation of the second mobile device. The first mobile device identifies two constraints that relate the mobile devices' coordinate systems based at least in part on the second position and the orientation information. The first mobile device's pose relative to the second mobile device may be calculated once at least six constraints are accumulated.

  • Publication number: 20200292151
Abstract: A luminaire (10) comprises an array of lighting units (12) arranged as a plurality of regions (14a-14e). A reflector arrangement (16) is provided over the array of lighting units (12) for directing the light from each region (14a-14e) of the luminaire (10) to a different spread of light output directions. Each lighting unit (12) of at least one of the regions (14a-14e) comprises a first sub-unit (20, 22, 24) with a first polarised light output and a second sub-unit (20, 22, 24) with a second light output which is different from the first light output in polarisation, wherein the first and second sub-units (20, 22, 24) are independently controllable. In this way, light output in a certain range of directions can be controlled to have a desired polarisation. By actuating different sub-units (20, 22, 24), the polarisation can be dynamically controlled.
