  • Publication number: 20140052077
Abstract: The invention faces the technical problem of providing a tight connection between a tube and an dispense interface, while at the same time the biocompatibility of the connection can be improved. The technical problem is solved by an apparatus comprising a tube configured to guide a medium and a dispense interface. The tube comprises a first opening and a second opening, while the dispense interface comprises a recess. The recess has a first opening and a second opening and the tube is at least in part inserted into the recess. The tube is permanently affixed to the dispense interface by a combination of an interference fit and an adhesive, such that the interference fit prevents the adhesive from contaminating the medium.

  • Publication number: 20140005603
Abstract: A dispense interface for use with a drug delivery device. The dispense interface comprises a main outer body and an inner body. The inner body may be configured for connection to a drug delivery device and defines a first reservoir and a second reservoir. A first piercing needle is in fluid communication with the first reservoir and positioned for piercing a first cartridge of a drug delivery device. A second piercing needle is provided and in fluid communication with the second reservoir and positioned for piercing a second cartridge contained with a drug delivery device. A manifold is positioned adjacent the inner body and comprises a fluid groove arrangement. A valve arrangement is positioned between the inner body and the manifold and controls fluid communication of a first fluid contained in the first cartridge and a second fluid contained in the second cartridge by way of the fluid groove arrangement to a holding chamber.

  • Patent number: 8590633
Abstract: A powered hammer includes a housing coupled to a tool holder having a front end, and including a motor, a cylinder, and a piston is slideably received within the cylinder. A drive mechanism converts rotary output of the motor into a reciprocating motion of the piston within the cylinder. A ram, slideably mounted within the cylinder forward of the piston, is reciprocatingly driven by the piston. A beat piece support structure supports a beat piece. The beat piece is repetitively struck by the reciprocating ram, which repetitively strikes an end of the tool to transfer momentum of the ram to the tool. The beat piece support structure allows the beat piece to slide between a first forward position and a second rearward position.

  • Publication number: 20130253465
Abstract: A dispense interface component for use with a drug delivery device is provided. The dispense interface component may include a main body, a first piercing portion, a second piercing portion, and a biasing element. The main body is configured for connection to the drug delivery device. The first piercing portion is for piercing a first cartridge contained within the drug delivery device, and the first piercing portion is connected to the main body. The second piercing portion is for piercing a second cartridge contained with the drug delivery device, and the second piercing portion is connected to the main body. The at least one biasing element is operably coupled to the main body, wherein the at least one biasing element is configured to, when the load on the at least one biasing element is less than or equal to a threshold load, bias (i) the first piercing portion away from the first cartridge and (ii) the second piercing portion away from the second cartridge.

  • Publication number: 20080006422
Abstract: A powered hammer includes a housing, a tool holder coupled to the housing and configured to hold a tool, a motor within the housing, and a cylinder disposed within the housing. The cylinder has a first end and a second end that are sandwiched at the first and second ends between first and second holding portions of the housing. A piston is slideably mounted within the cylinder. A drive mechanism converts rotary output of the motor into a reciprocating motion of the piston. A ram is slideably mounted forward of the piston and is reciprocatingly driven by the piston. A beat piece is slideably mounted forward of the ram and is repetitively struck by the reciprocating ram, which in turn repetitively strikes an end of the tool when held in the tool holder to transfer the momentum of the ram to the tool.
