  • Patent number: 8580173
Abstract: In order to facilitate the assembly of a tire component like an Off the Road tire shoulder wedge, it is proposed to extrude this component with a high tack compound coating at its periphery by using a dual extruder which otherwise can extrude the tire component with a first high tack compound coating on one side, combined with an assembly for the extruder comprising a splice bar, a holder and a die which are designed to provide a channel deriving and guiding a portion of the high tack compound of the extruder to the stream of compounds before extrusion through the die, on a side opposite to the first coating, thereby providing a coating at almost the whole periphery of the component.

  • Patent number: 8498852
Abstract: Methods and systems for characterizing hydraulic fracturing of a subterranean formation based upon inputs from sensors measuring field data in conjunction with a fracture model. Such characterization can be generated in real-time to automatically manipulate surface and/or down-hole physical components supplying hydraulic fluids to the subterranean formation to adjust the hydraulic fracturing process as desired. The hydraulic fracture model as described herein can also be used as part of forward calculations to help in the design and planning stage of a hydraulic fracturing treatment. In a preferred embodiment, the fracture model constrains geometric and geomechanical properties of the hydraulic fractures of the subterranean formation using the field data in a manner that significantly reduce the complexity of the fracture model and thus significantly reduces the processing resources and time required to provide accurate characterization of the hydraulic fractures of the subterranean formation.

  • Publication number: 20120239363
Abstract: A system has a tool capable of obtaining data that characterizes a stimulated reservoir or from which the stimulated reservoir can be characterized. The system also includes a processor capable of predicting the production of the stimulated reservoir using the characterizing data and outputting the predicted production. A reservoir may be stimulated using a stimulation process and data may be obtained that characterizes the stimulated reservoir or from which the stimulated reservoir can be characterized. The production of the stimulated reservoir may be predicted using the data. Alternatively, a reservoir may be stimulated using a stimulation process and data that characterizes the stimulated reservoir or from which the stimulated reservoir can be characterized may be obtained. One or more 3-D volumes may be produced based on the characterizing data, and inferences about the stimulated reservoir may be made using the one or more 3-D volumes.

  • Publication number: 20120125618
Abstract: The invention provides economically effective methods for hydraulic fracturing a subterranean formation that ensure improvement of the hydraulic fracture conductivity because of forming strong proppant clusters uniformly placed in the fracture throughout its length. One of these methods comprises: a first stage comprising injection of fracturing fluid into a borehole, the fluid containing thickeners to create a fracture in the formation; and a second stage comprising introduction of proppant into the injected fracturing fluid to prevent closure of the created fracture, and further, comprising introducing an agent into the fracturing fluid to provide formation of proppant clusters in the created fracture and channels for flowing formation fluids.

  • Patent number: 8141632
Abstract: A numerical model of a polymer-based fracturing fluid displacement from a fracture and a filtrate zone by a formation fluid is provided for calculating a change of a fracturing fluid concentration in a produced fluid and for calculating a change of a polymer concentration in the recovered fracturing fluid. Throughout the entire fracturing fluid recovery the produced fluid samples are periodically taken from a well mouth. The fracturing fluid concentration and the polymer concentration in the samples are measured. The measurement results are compared with the model calculations and the fracture length and width are determined based on a match of the measurement results and the model calculations.

One of these methods comprises: a first stage that involves injection into a borehole of fracturing fluid containing thickeners to create a fracture in the formation; and a second stage that involves periodic introduction of proppant into the injected fracturing fluid to supply the proppant into a created fracture, to form proppant clusters within the fracture to prevent fracture closure and channels for flowing formation fluids between the clusters, wherein the second stage or its sub-stages involve additional introduction of either a reinforcing or consolidation material or both, thus increasing the strength of the proppant clusters formed into the fracture fluid.

The fuel injector includes an electromagnetic actuating element having a solenoid coil, a core and a valve cover as external solenoid circuit component, and a movable valve-closure element, which cooperates with a valve-seat surface assigned to a valve-seat body. The core and a connection pipe are fixedly connected in an inner opening of a thin-walled valve sleeve by being pressed into place, and the valve cover at the outer circumference of the valve sleeve is firmly connected to the valve sleeve by being pressed onto it. The firm press-fitted connection of in each case two of these metallic components of the fuel injector is characterized by the fact that at least one of the partner components has in its press-fitting region a structure with score marks, and/or the particular press-fitting region has an intake rounding in at least one transition to an adjoining component section.

  • Publication number: 20110108268
Abstract: The invention relates to the methods of treating a bottom-hole formation zone to increase in well productivity and rocks permeability. According to this method a pulse generator should be tripped in a well and the formation pulse treatment should be conducted by generating negative pressure pulses of amplitude higher than the tensile formation strength. The method provides the high fissuring rate by breaking formation fluid-bearing permeable rocks around a wellbore.

  • Patent number: 7909099
Abstract: The invention relates to oil production stimulation methods and can be used for both reservoirs with fractures resulting from the fracturing procedure and reservoirs with naturally occurring fractures, for which the fracturing procedure is not mandatory. A material which expands while hardening or setting, is injected into the near-wellbore region of a cased well, into the space between the casing and the reservoir, and the wellbore is then perforated. A material having an expansion degree sufficient for application of pressure to the wellbore walls and for keeping at least one fracture open is used as the material which expands while hardening or setting. After the perforation has been done, the reservoir is hydraulically fractured. For naturally fractured reservoirs, the fracturing procedure is not mandatory.

  • Patent number: 7819181
Abstract: The methods of evaluating a geometry of a hydraulic fracture in a rock formation penetrated by a borehole comprises the steps of measuring the values of electric or magnetic fields, or both electric and magnetic fields generated due to the electrokinetic effect by the flow of an electrolyte-based fracturing fluid from the borehole into the fracture and from the fracture into the formation or by the reverse flow of the fluid from the rock formation and from the fracture into the borehole and determining the geometry of the fracture from the measured values. The methods may provide for varying the injection pressure, varying the value of the electrokinetic coupling coefficient of the fracturing fluid or applying at least one pressure pulse of a given magnitude to the fracturing fluid.
