  • Patent number: 7769549
Abstract: A method for on-line acoustic detection of the quality of foams and aerated fluids whereby at least one emitter/receiver pair is placed in a close vicinity to the foam flow. At least one acoustic pulse is emitted and the time within which the acoustic pulse travels from the emitter to the receiver is recorded. Sound speed in the foam is determined by analyzing an acoustic response of the receiver and a pressure in the foam is also measured.

  • Publication number: 20100186875
Abstract: In order to facilitate the assembly of a tire component like an Off the Road tire shoulder wedge, it is proposed to extrude this component with a high tack compound coating at its periphery by using a dual extruder which otherwise can extrude the tire component with a first high tack compound coating on one side, combined with an assembly for the extruder comprising a splice bar, a holder and a die which are designed to provide a channel deriving and guiding a portion of the high tack compound of the extruder to the stream of compounds before extrusion through the die, on a side opposite to the first coating, thereby providing a coating at almost the whole periphery of the component.

  • Patent number: 7763787
Abstract: A musical instrument ligature using at least one stalk which act as the contact points between the ligature and the reed when it is clamped onto the mouthpiece of a wind instrument. The stalks are preferably positioned so as to be non-parallel to each other thereby effecting varying contact points between the ligature and the reed. The ligature is slid over the mouthpiece of an instrument and tightened as desired using a set of butterfly screws and nuts positioned at the ends of the metallic band forming the ligature.

  • Publication number: 20090166029
Abstract: The invention is intended to determine the dimensions of the cracks resulting from the formation fracturing. To determine the crack dimensions a numerical model of the fracturing fluid ousting from the crack and filtrate zone with the formation fluid is made for the set formation parameters, fracturing data and supposed crack dimensions, the model is made to calculate the change of the fracturing fluid concentration in the total production during the well post-fracturing commissioning; during the well commissioning, throughout the entire fracturing fluid ousting period samples of the fluid produced are periodically taken from the well mouth and the fracturing fluid concentration in the samples taken is measure, then the measurement results are compared with the model calculations and the crack length is determined based on the best match of the measurement results and the model calculations.

  • Publication number: 20090044945
Abstract: The invention provides economically effective methods for hydraulic fracturing a subterranean formation that ensure improvement of the hydraulic fracture conductivity because of forming strong proppant clusters uniformly placed in the fracture throughout its length. One of these methods comprises: a first stage that involves injection into a borehole of fracturing fluid containing thickeners to create a fracture in the formation; and a second stage that involves periodic introduction of proppant into the injected fracturing fluid to supply the proppant into a created fracture, to form proppant clusters within the fracture to prevent fracture closure and channels for flowing formation fluids between the clusters, wherein the second stage or its sub-stages involve additional introduction of either a reinforcing or consolidation material or both, thus increasing the strength of the proppant clusters formed into the fracture fluid.

  • Publication number: 20070295500
Abstract: The invention relates to the methods of treating a bottom-hole formation zone to increase in well productivity and rocks permeability. According to this method a pulse generator should be tripped in a well and the formation pulse treatment should be conducted by generating negative pressure pulses of amplitude higher than the tensile formation strength. The method provides the high fissuring rate by breaking formation fluid-bearing permeable rocks around a wellbore.

  • Patent number: 7302849
Abstract: The invention relates to monitoring of fluid-filled domains in various media including, for example, subterranean formations, construction elements, bones. Claimed are a method for determining characteristic sizes of a fluid-filled crack in a medium and a system for implementation thereof. In accordance with this method, oscillations of the fluid-filled crack are registered. Wave characteristics of standing interface waves propagating along the fluid-filled crack surfaces are determined based on the registered oscillations taking medium and fluid properties into account. The fluid-filled crack characteristic sizes are calculated based on the determined wave characteristics of the standing interface waves.

  • Publication number: 20040136521
Abstract: A frequency dependent telecommunication hybrid circuit adapted to operate according to the Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line [ADSL] protocol wherein the frequencies of the receive frequency band are lower than those of the transmit frequency band. The hybrid circuit is provided with series impedances (R1, Z1; R2, Z2) comprising devices (Z1, Z2) having frequency dependant impedances. Owing to these frequency dependant impedances, the hybrid circuit behaves as a frequency band filter showing a different impedance in function of the frequency band. As a result, the power consumption is reduced in the transmit direction where the series impedances are relatively low. However, the values of the series impedances remain relatively high in the receive direction in order to avoid bit rate reduction.
