Patent number: 11972203Abstract: The technology disclosed relates to formulating and refining field extraction rules that are used at query time on raw data with a late-binding schema. The field extraction rules identify portions of the raw data, as well as their data types and hierarchical relationships. These extraction rules are executed against very large data sets not organized into relational structures that have not been processed by standard extraction or transformation methods. By using sample events, a focus on primary and secondary example events help formulate either a single extraction rule spanning multiple data formats, or multiple rules directed to distinct formats. Selection tools mark up the example events to indicate positive examples for the extraction rules, and to identify negative examples to avoid mistaken value selection. The extraction rules can be saved for query-time use, and can be incorporated into a data model for sets and subsets of event data.Type: GrantFiled: April 25, 2023Date of Patent: April 30, 2024Assignee: Splunk Inc.Inventors: Jesse Miller, Micah James Delfino, Marc Robichaud, David Carasso

Patent number: 11940989Abstract: In some embodiments, a method may include display of a data summary view of a set of events that correspond to query results of a query. Each event of the set of events may include data items of a plurality of event attributes. In embodiments, the data summary view can include various summary reports. Each summary report can include summary entries and a summary graph that each present a summary of data items of a selected event attribute, of the plurality of event attributes. At least one summary report can include summary entries that are selectable by a user. The method may further include filtering the set of event, in response to, and based on, selection of one or more of the selectable summary entries by the user and updating of at least the first and second summary graphs to correspond to the filtered set of events.Type: GrantFiled: June 9, 2022Date of Patent: March 26, 2024Assignee: Splunk Inc.Inventors: Jesse Miller, Marc V. Publication number: 20240009625Abstract: A cell retention device includes a structured support with a plurality of circumferentially distributed ribs to retain the active filtering surface of a flexible, porous membrane filter medium. The filter medium surrounds the support in contact with the peaks of the ribs, thereby forming axial voids between the rib peaks. This arrangement imparts sufficient structural support over small regions of the filter medium to facilitate its use in a circular (or other rounded) configuration while providing sufficient channel volume to support high throughput of fluid sparse of cells.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 21, 2023Publication date: January 11, 2024Applicant: Sunflower Therapeutics, PBCInventors: Andrew BANCHIERI, Flora LIU, Marc Miller GRAHAM

Patent number: 11834082Abstract: A system and method for detecting buckled rail and for predicting a risk for rail buckling is disclosed. The method may comprise receiving data from a camera mounted on locomotive traveling on the railroad track. The data may include images of the buckled rail and dimensions of the buckled rail when the camera detects the buckled rail. The data may further include images of the ballast and condition of the ballast. The method may further comprise receiving data from a thermal camera mounted to the locomotive indicating the temperature of the rails. The method may further comprise transmitting an alarm signal to a display interface of a remote unit if the dimensions of the buckled rail meet a predetermined threshold, and predicting a risk for rail buckling based at least on the temperature of the rails and the condition of the ballast.Type: GrantFiled: September 18, 2019Date of Patent: December 5, 2023Assignee: Progress Rail Services CorporationInventors: Marc Miller, Chad A. Publication number: 20230385214Abstract: A microcontroller system that includes a central processing unit (CPU), a first system memory, a first peripheral module, and a DMA controller is disclosed. The DMA controller includes a DMA processor, a DMA memory, and a DMA interconnect. The DMA memory stores information associated with the DMA processor. The DMA processor receives a command from the CPU or a signal from a peripheral processor of the first peripheral module that a first data transfer is requested. The DMA processor receives first data from the first system memory or the first peripheral module. The DMA processor, based at least in part on the information stored in the DMA memory, transmits the first data to the first peripheral module or the first system memory, thereby sparing the CPU from managing the transferring of the first data.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 3, 2023Publication date: November 30, 2023Inventors: Stephen James SHEAFOR, Daniel Martin CERMAK, Roger SERWY, Marc MILLER
