  • Publication number: 20040262332
Abstract: The invention relates to a device comprising a mixer tube (2), whose diameter diminishes toward one end, a mixer helix (5), which is located inside the mixer tube (2), and comprising a plunger (6,7). According to the invention, the mixer helix can or should be accordingly compressed inside the mixer tube with the aid of the plunger that is inserted into the mixer tube. The device enables a largely complete dispensing of the material remaining in a static mixer helix during mixing and is suited, above all, for storing, mixing and dispensing dental materials.

  • Publication number: 20040065679
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for storing and dispensing a flowable composition. Said device comprises a first (1) and a second film (2), a dispensing zone (4), a first chamber 5), containing a first substance (A) and a second chamber (6), containing a second substance (B). Said chambers are interconnected by a transition zone (3) that can be selectively opened. At least one of the films is deep-drawn in the region of the chambers and at least one of the films is pre-formed in the region of the second chamber, in such a way that once the device has been activated by opening the transition zone, the first substance can to a great extent by completely transferred to the second chamber, increasing the volume of said chamber as a result.

  • Patent number: 6715645
Abstract: The invention relates to a mixing capsule, especially for producing dental materials. The inventive capsule is provided with a cartridge which is closed on one end thereof by means of a piston. A hemispherical cavity is configured in the piston. Said cavity forms an additional chamber and is closed in relation to the main chamber of the cartridge by means of a separating device. A body that is present in the main chamber in the initial state serves for supporting the mixing process and for chopping through the separating device at the beginning of the mixing process in such a way that the main chamber and the additional chamber form a coherent mixing chamber. The body enters the hemispherical additional chamber and acts as a displacing body at the end of the output process. The mixing capsule is provided with a coding.

  • Publication number: 20040029171
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for analysis and to a device for carrying out the method. The method comprises the following steps: a) removing an applicator from a device comprising a pocket for receiving an applicator and at least one first compartment for receiving an indicator substance, said compartment having means for being connected to the pocket in the form of a connecting area to be opened selectively; b) wetting the applicator with a substance, for example saliva; c) introducing the applicator into the device; d) activating the device by exerting pressure on a compartment or by inserting the applicator into the compartment.

  • Publication number: 20040005524
Abstract: Processes for forming dental materials that include applying a first hardenable dental composition (e.g., a dental adhesive) to a surface followed by applying a second hardenable dental composition (e.g., a dental composite) to the first hardenable dental composition on the surface. The first and second hardenable dental compositions are hardened such that the second hardenable composition is substantially completely hardened prior to complete hardening of the first hardenable composition.

  • Publication number: 20040000203
Abstract: A device is provided which determines the end of the processing time for hardening masses, in particular dental molding masses. The device comprises a display unit and a sensor unit which record the change in at least one of the rheological properties of the mass. A method that can be used with such a device is described.

  • Publication number: 20030146117
Abstract: A device for storing and applying material, especially dental material, comprises a first zone comprising a first and a second film that define at least one first chamber that receives a first substance, and a pouch separated from the chamber for withdrawing the first substance. The separation between the pouch and the first chamber is provided with a through opening that can be selectively opened. The device further comprises a second zone with a second chamber that is not linked with the first section by way of a through opening that can be selectively opened.

  • Patent number: 6543611
Abstract: A mixer capsule, especially for the production of dental materials, comprising a cartridge (10) that is closed on one end by a piston (12). The piston has a hemispherical recess (12) that forms a chamber and is closed off from the main chamber (18) of the cartridge (10) by means of a separating device (16). A body (20) that is provided in the initial state in the main chamber (18) is used to facilitate the mixing process and to penetrate the separating device (16) at the beginning of the process, whereby the main chamber (18) and the subsidiary chamber (17) form a single mixing area. At the end of the output process, the body (20) enters the hemispherical subsidiary chamber (17) and acts as a displacer.

  • Patent number: 6244740
Abstract: A mixer is used for producing multi-component pastes at a mixing ratio other than 1:1. A deviating channel 20 is provided between the inlet opening 16 for the component of the larger volume proportion and the mixing chamber, to delay the feed of this component with respect to the other component. The presence of this deviating channel 20 causes all components to enter the mixing chamber simultaneously, thereby obtaining a paste which has the desired mixing ratio from the start.
