  • Publication number: 20130227295
Abstract: A watermark generator for providing a watermark signal in dependence on binary message data includes an information processor configured to provide, in dependence on information units of the binary message data, a first time-frequency domain representation, values of which represent the binary message data. The watermark generator also includes a differential encoder configured to derive a second time-frequency domain representation from the first time-frequency-domain representation, such that the second time-frequency-domain representation includes a plurality of values, wherein a difference between two values of the second time-frequency-domain representation represents a corresponding value of the first time-frequency-domain representation, in order to obtain a differential encoding of the values of the first time-frequency-domain representation.

  • Publication number: 20130218314
Abstract: A watermark signal provider provides a watermark signal suitable for being hidden in an audio signal when the watermark signal is added to the audio signal, such that the watermark signal represents watermark data. The watermark signal provider includes a psychoacoustical processor for determining a masking threshold of the audio signal; and a modulator for generating the watermark signal from a superposition of sample-shaping functions spaced apart from each other at a sample time interval of a time-discrete representation of the watermark data, each sample-shaping function being amplitude-weighted with a respective sample of the time-discrete representation, multiplied by a respective amplitude weight depending on the masking threshold, the modulator being configured such that the sample time interval is shorter than a time extension of the sample-shaping functions; and the respective amplitude weight also depends on samples of the time-discrete representation neighboring the respective sample in time.

  • Publication number: 20130218313
Abstract: A watermark decoder includes a time-frequency-domain representation provider, a memory unit, a synchronization determiner and a watermark extractor. The time-frequency-domain representation provider provides a frequency-domain representation of the watermarked signal for a plurality of time blocks. The memory unit stores the frequency-domain representation of the watermarked signal for a plurality of time blocks. Further, the synchronization determiner identifies an alignment time block based on the frequency-domain representation of the watermarked signal of a plurality of time blocks. The watermark extractor provides binary message data based on stored frequency-domain representations of the watermarked signal of time blocks temporally preceding the identified alignment time block considering a distance to the identified alignment time block.

  • Patent number: 8335962
Abstract: A convolution interleaver for processing a codeword derived from an input block of symbols using a redundancy-adding coding, and having more symbols than the input block, wherein the codeword has a sequence of interleaving units, wherein each interleaving unit has at least two symbols, includes an interleaver. The interleaver changes the sequence of interleaving units to obtain an interleaved codeword having a changed sequence of interleaving units. In particular, the order of the symbols within an interleaving unit is not changed by the interleaver. The order of the interleaving units in the codeword among each other or with respect to a previous or subsequent codeword is changed, however.

  • Publication number: 20110289391
Abstract: The inventive concept enables backward-compatible extension of existing interleaver-based transmission systems to the effect that in addition to an existing logical transport channel, which is interleaved using a standardized interleaver profile, further logical transport channels may be transmitted via the same physical transmission channel. In this context, the first transport channel obviously is reduced in terms of data rate, so that the additional transport channels may actually obtain a transmission capacity that is needed accordingly. Interleaver profiles of the further logical transport channels are derived, to this end, from the interleaver profile of the first transport channel.

  • Patent number: 7372802
Abstract: In a transmitting/receiving concept a redundancy-adding encoder is used in order to obtain two data streams for different transmitters. In the receiver, the receiving signal is sampled by a first sampler synchronous to the first transmitter and is output by a second sampler synchronous to the second transmitter in order to obtain a first and a second receiving signal which are fed to a trellis decoder to obtain a decoded first and second receiving subgroup of code units which are again fed to a calculating means in order to calculate the interference signals which are then combined with the corresponding receiving signals for an interference reduction. The iterative concept enables an interference reduction for receiving signal generated by two spatially separated transmitters. The receiver concept shows a quick convergence and thus enables the two transmitters to transmit in the same frequency band.
