  • Publication number: 20060159205
Abstract: A device for determining a correlation value from a correlation between a first sequence of values with complex values and a second sequence of values with complex values has a correlation means for determining a first partial correlation value from a correlation between a first subset of the first sequence of values and a first subset of the second sequence of values, and for determining a second partial correlation value from a correlation between a second subset of the first sequence of values and a second subset of the second sequence of values. The device further has a processing means for determining a processed partial correlation value with an adjusted phase term from the first partial correlation value or the second partial correlation value, and a calculating means for determining the correlation value using the processed partial correlation value.

  • Publication number: 20060159202
Abstract: A frequency converter for a spectral conversion of a start signal having a current frequency to an end signal having a target frequency, wherein the start signal includes an I component having a plurality of I component values and a Q component having a plurality of Q component values, comprises means for selecting a plurality of sub-signals based on the I component or the Q component, wherein a sub-signal, depending on a raster, includes selectable I component values, and wherein another sub-signal, depending on the raster, includes selected Q component values. Further, the frequency converter comprises means for weighting each of the plurality of sub-signals, wherein means for weighting is implemented to weight each of the plurality of sub-signals with one weighting factor each to obtain a plurality of weighting signals. Additionally, the frequency converter comprises means for summing the plurality of weighting signals to obtain the end signal having the target frequency.

  • Publication number: 20060159206
Abstract: A device for determining a time of arrival of a receive sequence in a receiver comprises correlation means which is implemented to determine a correlation value sequence from a correlation of the receive sequence with a transmit sequence, wherein the correlation sequence comprises a peak shape having a main maximum and at least one local side maximum. The device further comprises processing means which is implemented to determine a point of the correlation sequence which lies within an interval which is on the one side bounded by the local side maximum and on the other side by the peak shape, and which is implemented to determine the time of arrival depending on the point.

  • Publication number: 20050111347
Abstract: In a transmitting/receiving concept a redundancy-adding encoder with a code rate larger or equal 0.5 is used in order to obtain two data streams for two different transmitters which are arranged at spatially different positions. Both transmitters transmit in the same frequency band. In the receiver, the receiving signal is sampled by a first sampler synchronous to the first transmitter and is output by a second sampler synchronous to the second transmitter in order to obtain a first and a second receiving signal which are fed to a trellis decoder in order to obtain a decoded first and second receiving subgroup of code units which are again fed to a calculating means in order to calculate the interference signals which are then combined with the corresponding receiving signals for an interference reduction. The iterative concept enables an interference reduction for receiving signal generated by two spatially separated transmitters which are transmitting in the same frequency band, however.

  • Publication number: 20040171388
Abstract: A method for the continuous real time tracking of the position of at least one mobile object in a defined multidimensional space comprising at least one mobile transmitter module which is attached to at least one mobile object, the signals from said module being received by a stationary receiving and signal processing network and then centrally processed. The signals emitted by the transmitter module are electromagnetic waves sent within a frequency band range using time division multiplex techniques. Due to the fact that the frequency band is used as a single channel for the purpose of maximizing the accuracy with which a position is detected, and due also to the fact that the communication process between the transmitters (Sp, Sb) and the receivers (E1, . . .

  • Patent number: 6628726
Abstract: To achieve a distortionless reduction in the out-of-band radiation a plurality of candidate transmit sequences is generated from an information word and one of the candidate transmit sequences, which fulfills a predetermined criterion, is then selected as the transmit sequence. The different candidate transmit sequences are generated by adding respective different labels to the information word and the information word plus added label is then processed by an invertable back-coupled combination algorithm to obtain a combined information word wherein the information units are combined with one another and/or with the added label in such a way that the combined information word is uniquely identified by the label. The combined information word is further processed, e.g. with the aid of a mapper and an inverse Fourier transform in the case of an OFDM modulation method, to obtain a temporal candidate transmit sequence.

  • Patent number: 6314289
Abstract: An apparatus for transmitting information comprises a bitstream source for providing a bitstream representing the information, a redundancy adding encoder for generating an encoded bitstream, which is arranged to output, for a first number of input bits, a second number of output bits, the second number of output bits having at least twice as many output bits as the first number of input bits, wherein the second number of output bits includes two portions of output bits, each portion of output bits individually allowing the retrieval of information represented by the first number of input bits, and the first portion of output bits being coded based on the bitstream in a different way with respect to the second portion of output bits.
