  • Publication number: 20050134855
Abstract: A spectrophotometer comprises selection means for selecting one or more of the components of a light beam corresponding to different wavelengths, formed by optical micro-filters.
    Type: Application
    Filed: November 1, 2004
    Publication date: June 23, 2005
    Inventor: Marco Pizzi
  • Publication number: 20050120707
Abstract: Noxious emissions present in the exhaust gases of an internal-combustion engine of a motor vehicle are controlled by making use of an IR spectrophotometer provided on board the motor vehicle, for the purpose of obtaining an analysis of all the main components of the exhaust gases of the engine. The IR spectrophotometer is of the type with electrostatic micro-shutters so as to present overall dimensions designed to enable its use on board the motor vehicle.
    Type: Application
    Filed: November 1, 2004
    Publication date: June 9, 2005

  • Patent number: 6888142
Abstract: An optic device with a variable operating mode comprises a micromirror which can be obscured by means of an electrostatically controlled microshutter. In the operating condition of the microshutter, the petal of this adheres over a substrate to allow a beam of light to reach the mirror. In the condition at rest, the petal is curled up and one of its surfaces receives the beam of light and reflects it in all directions, at the same time preventing this from reaching the mirror.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 6, 2002
Date of Patent: May 3, 2005

    Inventors: Marco Pizzi, Valerian Koniachkine
  • Patent number: 6879084
Abstract: An electrostatic actuator is described, which can be used for moving a yarn fed continuously in a textile machine in a direction orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of the yarn, between two end positions.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 22, 2003
Date of Patent: April 12, 2005
Assignee: C.R.F. Societa Consortile per Azioni
    Inventor: Marco Pizzi
  • Patent number: 6864977
Abstract: Described herein is a spectrophotometer having an inlet slit associated to which is at least one electrostatic-film shutter.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 13, 2003
Date of Patent: March 8, 2005

  • Publication number: 20050019799
Abstract: The present invention relates to an optical biosensor comprising a porous matrix. In the specific case, reference is made to anodized porous alumina, on the surface of which the biological component specific for the analyte in question is immobilized, and to an optical-signal detector connected to said matrix. The present patent further relates to a biosensor having the porous matrix and the optical detector integrated in a single structure, in particular to biosensors with porous matrix other than porous alumina, for example porous silicon.

  • Publication number: 20040257408
Abstract: Method for ejecting micro-drops of liquid, including the steps of providing a body (18) equipped with at least one passage (30) communicating with a tank (12) of liquid (14), and producing in the passage (30) a choke or a widening that is moveable along a direction of ejection (46), in such a way as to produce the ejection of controlled quantities of liquid (48) from one end (34) of said passage (30).

  • Publication number: 20040227427
Abstract: A micro-actuator includes a shape memory thin film having one end fixed to a substrate and one remaining part which, at room temperature, is in the martensitic phase and assumes a curly-configuration, whereas at a higher temperature than a threshold value it changes to the austenitic condition, wherein the film is completely stretched upon the substrate.
