  • Patent number: 6882638
Abstract: A method of transmitting signalling information in a Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) between a pair of peer application part. An adaptation layer is interposed between the SCCP of an SS7 network and a TCP/IP part to allow signalling data to be transmitted to and from the SCCP via an IP based network. The adaptation layer provides for translation between Destination Point Codes (DPCs) and or global titles, used as addresses in the SS7 network, and IP addresses/port numbers for use in the IP network. The adaptation layer also provides for formatting of SCCP messages suitable for processing by the TCP/IP layers, and also for formatting signalling information flowing in the reverse direction.

  • Patent number: 6772800
Abstract: A pedicure basin liner system, for preventing transmission of pathogens between pedicure clients when using a common pedicure basin. The pedicure basin has side walls, a bottom portion, and a top lip, which together define an interior volume capable of containing and supporting a quantity of water during a pedicure procedure. To prevent the water from actually contacting the basin while allowing the basin to support the weight of the water, the basin is covered with a liner that is shaped to fit closely within the basin against its bottom portion and side walls, and extend over the top lip. The liner is subsequently filled with water and the basin supports the weight of the water while remaining isolated from the water. After the pedicure procedure is performed, the water and the liner are disposed of.

  • Patent number: 5854976
Abstract: The fixed cellular terminals (TCF) include a subscriber identity module which, in order to permit authentication of the identity of the subscriber (U) without any intervention on his part, is fixed. It is of particular application in fixed cellular terminals (TCF) of the GSM type that form part of an access network based on the infrastructure of acellular mobile network. These subscriber identity modules incorporate the function of the subscriber identification number verification. During the installation stage each fixed cellular terminal (TCF) stores the subscriber identification number, which it later provides to the subscriber identity module making it become fully active when the number supplied coincides with that held in the subscriber identity module. In the initialization process, the fixed cellular terminal (TCF) generates a new subscriber identification number, that it stores internally in its subscriber identity module for use in subsequent reinitializations.
