  • Publication number: 20200311129
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for resolving a meaning of an ambiguous calendar entry and recommending broadcast media based on the meaning. To this end, a media guidance application may detect a calendar entry specific to a user, and determine that the calendar entry is ambiguous with respect to an associated period of time. In response to determining that the calendar entry is ambiguous with respect to the associated period of time, the media guidance application may determine characteristics of the calendar entry and the user, and compute an estimated range of time corresponding to the calendar entry based on the characteristic of the calendar entry and the characteristic of the user. The media guidance application may then generate for display a recommendation of broadcast media based on the estimated range of time.

  • Patent number: 10755724
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for detecting dubbed speech in a media asset and receiving metadata corresponding to the media asset. The systems and methods may determine a plurality of scenes in the media asset based on the metadata, retrieve a portion of the dubbed speech corresponding to the first scene, and process the retrieved portion of the dubbed speech corresponding to the first scene to identify a speech characteristic of a character featured in the first scene. Further, the systems and methods may determine whether the speech characteristic of the character featured in the first scene matches the context of the first scene, and if the match fails, perform a function to adjust the portion of the Dubbed Speech of the dubbed speech so that the speech characteristic of the character featured in the first scene matches the context of the first scene.

  • Publication number: 20200117714
Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for replaying content dialogue in an alternate language in response to a user command. While the content is playing on a media device, a first language in which the content dialogue is spoken is identified. Upon receiving a voice command to repeat a portion of the dialogue, the language in which the command was spoken is identified. The portion of the content dialogue to repeat is identified and translated from the first language to the second language. The translated portion of the content dialogue is then output. In this way, the user can simply ask in their native language for the dialogue to be repeated and the repeated portion of the dialogue is presented in the user's native language.

  • Patent number: 10182271
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for playing a summary of a scene related to a current scene from a media asset being played in a display. This may be accomplished by a media guidance application receiving a command to play a summary of a scene related to the current playback. The media guidance application then determines a scene or scenes related to the current scene and compiles a summary of the related scenes. The media guidance application may also compile summarized content of the current scene to catch a viewer watching summary up to the current scene when the summary is complete. The media guidance application generates for display, on a second display, the summary content.

  • Patent number: 10063911
Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed herein for automatically recording and generating for display a catch-up video in a PIP window. If a user viewing a media program on a user equipment is detected to be distracted, the user equipment automatically begins recording the program. When the user is detected to no longer be distracted, the user equipment begins to display the recorded catch-up video in a PIP window. The playback rate of the catch-up video may be faster than the rate of the live video to allow the user to catch up quickly. The playback rate and size of the PIP window may be varied depending on the duration, remaining duration, and content of the catch-up video.

  • Patent number: 7615945
Abstract: In one embodiment, the present invention describes a gate closure system having a barrier or gate operator for moving a gate between a gate fully opened position and a gate fully closed position. The gate closure system preferably further includes, among other things, a master control board with input and output points to receive and transmit data associated with movement of the gate, including a panic control override mode circuit input to the master control board that negates all gate movement parameters during any portion of the gate's travel path to open or close the gate at a substantially greater rate of speed than typically used to open or close the gate during normal operation, regardless of the gate's speed, torque, direction of travel (forward or backward), or whether the gate is stationary.

  • Patent number: 7523898
Abstract: A new wire holder design. The holder is installed into a T-shaped or L-shaped hole in substrate such as a sheet metal, printed wiring board, etc. using only a single installation motion. The holder holds wires in place. Because it requires only a single installation motion the holder is easily installed and furthermore cannot rotate once installed. The holder protrudes only about a millimeter below the substrate.

  • Patent number: 6731155
Abstract: A dual pump circuit including a transmission gate and a dual charge pump. The transmission gate includes a p-channel transistor and an n-channel transistor, each having a control terminal and a pair of current terminals coupled between a dual pump input and a dual pump output. The dual charge pump includes first and second pump circuits, where each pump circuit is coupled to the dual pump input and to a control terminal of a corresponding one of the transmission gate transistors. Each pump circuit is operative to linearize operation of its corresponding transmission gate transistor by maintaining VGS—VT constant. The dual pump circuit is used in a track and hold circuit including at least one dual pump sampling circuit, at least one sampling capacitor, and a control circuit for controlling input signal sampling timing. Each dual pump sampling circuit includes the transmission gate and a dual charge pump.
