Abstract: A horizontally expandable bed rail having a guard rail frame that confronts a first side of a bed to prevent a child from falling out of the bed. The guard rail frame includes a pair of vertical support members interconnected by upper, lower and intermediate horizontal support members that slide horizontally in and out such that the vertical support members have an extended position where the vertical support members are spaced apart by a first distance and a drawn in position where the vertical support members are spaced apart by a second distance that is less than the first distance.

Abstract: The present gated barrier includes a visual indicator to show the end user one or more features of the gate barrier such as how to set up the gated barrier, whether the frame of the barrier is true and square, or whether the barrier frame has been set up with sufficient pressure between, for example, two door jambs.

Abstract: A baby changing pad apparatus having a locator, locator receiver, and non-skid grip combination for engaging the baby changing pad apparatus to a first surface. The locator receiver includes a quick connect first portion engaged to the baby changing pad apparatus. The locator includes a quick connect second portion engagable between the quick connect first portion and first surface. The non-skid grip may engage the first surface with or without the locator engaged to the locator receiver.

Abstract: The present gated barrier includes a threshold and an isolator on the bottommost surface of the threshold to space the gated barrier from the floor. The isolator includes a compressible layer made of a textile. In a second embodiment, the isolator includes a relatively compressible layer made of a textile and a relatively incompressible layer made of a plastic. The isolator protects the floor against scratches and dampens the noise that is made when the gate is shut.

Abstract: A barrier that includes four structurally different corner connections for fixing a gate frame of the barrier to and between opposing vertical surfaces. A first connection includes a headed straight pin engaging a pivot hook and socket, a second connection includes a headed straight pin engaging a socket, a third connection includes headless bent pin engaging a socket and a limiter, and a fourth connection includes a headless bent pin engaging a socket.

Abstract: A tray for attachment to first and second rising legs of a foldable chair for a child. A connection between the tray and one of the first and second legs includes a female connector depending from the underside of a tray and a male connector rising from the leg. An interlock slides between the female and male connectors and is operated by a handle integral with the interlock. Resilient arms integral with the interlock and handle keep the interlock engaged and automatically draw back the interlock after the handle slides the interlock to a disengaged position such that the tray can be removed from the legs.

Abstract: A bed rail having a guard frame that prevents a child from rolling off a bed and a pair of legs that extend between the mattress and box spring. The guard frame swings between up and down positions and is pivotally connected to the legs via a first junction. A second junction locks the guard frame to the legs. The second junction includes a rotatable seat that engages a pin extending from the guard frame. The bed rail further includes a strap that engages a proximal end of a leg, a distal end of the leg, and an anchor, which engages the side of the bed opposite of the bed rail.

Abstract: The present gate handle includes a push button that is pushed before the gate handle is slid from a closed position to an open position on top of a support member. The support member includes a resilient button that extends into the gate handle and is pushable out of the gate handle by the push button. The support member further includes side slots that are engaged by side slides extending from the handle.

A bassinet receptacle depends from the first and second bassinet support members.

Abstract: The present playyard includes an endless frame, an endless sidewall within the frame, and a floor within the sidewall. The sidewall and floor form the shape of a receptacle having an open top and a closed bottom defined by the floor. Each of the frame, sidewall and floor takes the shape of a hexagon. The frame is a scissoring frame. The frame includes upper and lower junctions. The upper junction engages the sidewall. A strap engages the lower junction to a periphery of the floor, an inner portion of the floor, and the sidewall.

The apparatus is used for walking when the platform portion is in the up position. The apparatus may be used to assist a user in walking up and down stairs and curbs when the platform portion is in the down position. The base portion may engage the lower end of the cane by a resilient socket or by a threaded fastener that pinches the lower end of the cane.

Each of the latches must be opened to open the gate. Gate tubes are rectangular in section for their entire length. Wood panels are included in the gate and excluded from other portions of the gate apparatus to make the gate stand out to the user seeking to open the gate.

Abstract: The present lift lock is employed on a gate that is swingable and liftable on a first axis. In a first position the lift lock is on the first axis and in a blocking position that prevents the gate from being lifted relative to a barrier having the gate. The lift lock is slideable away from the first position on the axis to a second position away from the axis where the lift lock is in an unblocking position, thereby permitting the gate to be lifted on the axis. The lift lock snaps into and out of the second position.

Abstract: The present soft barrier includes sheeting and a frame. The frame includes longitudinal and lateral support members. The sheeting is in a relaxed state when the lateral support members are in a retracted state. The sheeting is in a taut state when the lateral support members are in an extended fixed state. A first adjustment mechanism for increasing or decreasing the longitudinal length of the barrier is a quick slide mechanism. Abstract: A bed rail having an operating position at one of the sides of a bed and a stored position between a mattress and box spring of the bed. To take down the bed rail, a guard frame portion is disengaged from a base frame portion, then the guard frame portion is pivoted and slid into the base frame portion. To set up the bed rail, the guard frame portion can be slid out of the base frame portion, pivoted relative to the base frame portion, then engaged to the base frame portion and into the operating position at a side of the bed.
