Abstract: The present gate handle includes a push button that is pushed before the gate handle is slid from a closed position to an open position on top of a support member. The support member includes a resilient button that extends into the gate handle and is pushable out of the gate handle by the push button. The support member further includes side slots that are engaged by side slides extending from the handle.

Abstract: A keeper apparatus engaged to the lower free end swinging corner portion of a gate, not to either of the upper and lower corner portions having the axis on which the gate swings, and not to the upper free end swinging corner portion where the gate has a main latch. The keeper apparatus joins the shortened ends of a horizontal gate support member and a vertical gate support member where, prior to engaging the keeper apparatus on the shortened ends, such intentionally manufactured shortened ends are free and spaced from each other.

Abstract: A bassinet apparatus having a base with first and second elongate support members parallel to each other. Lower portions of first and second side support member are slideably engaged respectively on the first and second elongate support members. Upper portions of the first and second side support members pivotally engage first and second bassinet support members extending from the upper portion of the first side support member to the upper portion of the second side support member. A bassinet receptacle depends from the first and second bassinet support members.

Abstract: The present playyard includes an endless frame, an endless sidewall within the frame, and a floor within the sidewall. The sidewall and floor form the shape of a receptacle having an open top and a closed bottom defined by the floor. Each of the frame, sidewall and floor takes the shape of a hexagon. The frame is a scissoring frame. The frame includes upper and lower junctions. The upper junction engages the sidewall. A strap engages the lower junction to a periphery of the floor, an inner portion of the floor, and the sidewall.

Abstract: A barrier that includes four structurally different corner connections for fixing a gate frame of the barrier to and between opposing vertical surfaces. A first connection includes a headed straight pin engaging a pivot hook and socket, a second connection includes a headed straight pin engaging a socket, a third connection includes headless bent pin engaging a socket and a limiter, and a fourth connection includes a headless bent pin engaging a socket.

Abstract: A base unit includes first and fourth connectors that are obliquely positioned relative to each other such that a first connector of a first base unit is engagable to a fourth connector of a second base unit. The present base unit further includes second and third connectors that are obliquely positioned relative to each other such that a second connector of the first base unit is engagable to a third connector of the second base unit. A set of base units may form a self-standing playyard enclosure or one or more of the base units may be clamped by the jaws of a bracket that in turn is pivotably engaged to a wall mount.

Abstract: The present apparatus includes a cane portion that engages a base portion that in turn engages a platform portion. The platform portion is pivotable between up and down positions. The apparatus is used for walking when the platform portion is in the up position. The apparatus may be used to assist a user in walking up and down stairs and curbs when the platform portion is in the down position. The base portion may engage the lower end of the cane by a resilient socket or by a threaded fastener that pinches the lower end of the cane.

Abstract: The present lift lock is employed on a gate that is swingable and liftable on a first axis. In a first position the lift lock is on the first axis and in a blocking position that prevents the gate from being lifted relative to a barrier having the gate. The lift lock is slideable away from the first position on the axis to a second position away from the axis where the lift lock is in an unblocking position, thereby permitting the gate to be lifted on the axis. The lift lock snaps into and out of the second position.

Abstract: A gate apparatus having an automatically returning gate, an upper latch operated by an upper button, and a lower latch operated by an upper finger handle. Each of the latches must be opened to open the gate. The gate returns without the aid of a spring to a position close to the closed position or to the closed position by the structure of a pivot or hinge connection between the gate and the frame of the gate. Gate tubes are rectangular in section for their entire length. Wood panels are included in the gate and excluded from other portions of the gate apparatus to make the gate stand out to the user seeking to open the gate.

Abstract: The present soft barrier includes sheeting and a frame. The frame includes longitudinal and lateral support members. The sheeting is in a relaxed state when the lateral support members are in a retracted state. The sheeting is in a taut state when the lateral support members are in an extended fixed state. The sheeting may be in either the relaxed state or taut state when the longitudinal support members are in a retracted state or an extended state. A first adjustment mechanism for increasing or decreasing the longitudinal length of the barrier is a quick slide mechanism. A second adjustment mechanism for finely increasing or finely decreasing the longitudinal length of the barrier is a rotatable mechanism.

Abstract: The present pet ramp apparatus includes a base, a ramp, and a support between the base and the ramp. The base and ramp are swingably engaged to each other. The support and ramp are swingably engaged to each other. The support is removably engaged to the base at spaced apart receptors, where changing the receptors changes the height of the upper end of the ramp and further changes the angle of inclination of the ramp.

Abstract: A two unit barrier or three unit barrier. The two unit barrier includes a first end frame portion and a second end frame portion as a first unit and a gate as a second unit. The three unit barrier includes a first end frame as a first unit, a second end frame as a second unit, and a gate as a third unit. In each of the barriers, the gate is swingably engaged and swingable over a lower connection arrangement. The lower connection arrangement may include one or more of a mortise and tenon connection, clamp connection, swinging connection, flush and hidden connection, and telescoping connection.

Abstract: A bed rail having an operating position at one of the sides of a bed and a stored position between a mattress and box spring of the bed. To take down the bed rail, a guard frame portion is disengaged from a base frame portion, then the guard frame portion is pivoted and slid into the base frame portion. To set up the bed rail, the guard frame portion can be slid out of the base frame portion, pivoted relative to the base frame portion, then engaged to the base frame portion and into the operating position at a side of the bed.

Abstract: A gate apparatus that includes a gate, an elongate member or gate base for the ends of the gate, and a stairway post adapter such that a wooden stairway post can serve as a base for a gate without harming the wood of the stairway post. The stairway post adapter includes a vertical or longitudinally running channel for receiving the gate base, a horizontally or laterally extending channel for receiving a strap, and a recess or receptor or face for confronting a section of a stairway post. The gate base includes an upper and lower eyelet. Each of the ends of the gate includes upper and lower pins for engaging the upper and lower eyelets of the gate bases. On the hinge side of the gate, the pins are relatively long and remain in the eyelets as the gate is lifted and swung. On the latch side of the gate, the pins are relatively short such that that latch side of the gate can be lifted and disengaged from the eyelets and then swung open. The gate is extendable and retractable in length, and is reversible.

The canopy includes a first flap with a first edge and a second flap with a second edge, wherein the first and second edges run cross-wise to each other when the canopy is in the generally flat form and generally parallel and adjacent to each other when the canopy is in the generally U-shaped form.

Abstract: The present lift lock includes a slide having feet and a slot between the feet, where such slide further includes an interior generally full length wall for acting as a stop, and where such slide further includes gripping ribs that increase in width from the front end of the slide to the rear end of the slide.

Abstract: A gated barrier that includes a barrier frame first portion, a barrier frame second portion, and a gate between the barrier frame first and second portions. The gated barrier further includes a latch apparatus, panels, and junction apparatus between the panels.

Abstract: The present oblique slide latch apparatus includes a housing, lever, and latch. A straight channel is positioned obliquely on the latch and is oblique relative to an axis along which the latch slides. The lever includes first and second pegs that capture inner and outer portions of a latch head to minimize wobble of the latch. The latch head is positioned within opposite sides of the lever.

Abstract: A first gate is disposed within a second gate of a barrier for extending across a passageway of a residence. The second gate can be closed to, for example, minimize access of toddlers to the passageway, while the first gate can be opened to, for example, maximize access of small dogs to the passageway. The barrier includes a locking mechanism between the second gate and a frame of the barrier.
