Abstract: A two part pressurized hand wheel for letting the user know when a gated pressurized barrier has been set up properly. One part of the hand wheel, when turned, begins to cover up a red portion of the second part. When the red portion is completely covered up, such is the signal to the user that the latch of the gated pressurized barrier is properly aligned with the latch receiver of the gated pressurized barrier.

Abstract: The present latch apparatus includes a swinging piece having first and second independent latches or sliders sliding in first and second slots. The first and second sliders slide independently of each other. The first and second sliders engage an undersurface of an extension of a first object such as a gate. If either the first or second slider is engaged on the undersurface, the swinging piece is locked and is not swingable such that the first object such as the gate cannot itself swing away from a second object such as a barrier section. Only when each of the first and second sliders has been slid beyond the undersurface can the swinging piece swing to permit the first object such as the gate to be released and thus swingable itself relative to the second object such as the barrier section.

Abstract: The present soft barrier includes sheeting and a frame. The frame includes longitudinal and lateral support members. The sheeting is in a relaxed state when the lateral support members are in a retracted state. The sheeting is in a taut state when the lateral support members are in an extended fixed state. The sheeting may be in either the relaxed state or taut state when the longitudinal support members are in a retracted state or an extended state. A first adjustment mechanism for increasing or decreasing the longitudinal length of the barrier is a quick slide mechanism. A second adjustment mechanism for finely increasing or finely decreasing the longitudinal length of the barrier is a rotatable mechanism.

Abstract: A bed rail for engagement between a mattress and a box spring and having a base support and a guard frame, with guard frame having a pivot that pivots and slides in the base support. The base support includes a first seat that seats the pivot and a second seat that seats a biased piece sliding axially on a first support member of the guard frame. The first support member extends from a plastic piece that forms a junction from which a second support member and the pivot extend and that nestles up to the second seat.

Abstract: The present gate includes a barrier frame and a gate in the barrier frame. The gate is opened by inserting a foot into a foot opening in the gate, which action compresses springs disposed about pivot pins between the gate and the barrier frame and draws an extended latch downwardly and out of a latch receiver that is bottomless, which action unlatches and frees the gate from the barrier frame such that the gate can be swung open. Downward travel of the gate is minimized until a foot pushes a pivoting stop out of the way.

Abstract: The present bed rail includes a rail portion and base portion. The rail portion swings down from an operating position and then slides into the base frame between a mattress and a mattress support to come to rest in the base frame in a stored position. The rail portion includes outer and inner frames. The outer frame is swingably and slideably engaged to the base frame. The inner frame is slideable on straight end portions of the outer frame and engages the base frame to prevent swinging and sliding of the rail portion.

Abstract: The present bottom rail controlled bed rail is a one handed bed rail where the bottom rail is lifted out of seats in left and right bases, whereupon the guard rail portion of the bed rail is free to swing relative to the left and right bases. When the bottom rail is lifted, the bottom rail slides up right and left end frame members of the guard rail portion. The left and right end frame members remain pivotally engaged to the left and right bases.

Abstract: The present oblique slide latch apparatus includes a housing, lever, and latch. A straight channel is positioned obliquely on the latch and is oblique relative to an axis along which the latch slides. The lever includes first and second pegs that capture inner and outer portions of a latch head to minimize wobble of the latch. The latch head is positioned within opposite sides of the lever.

Abstract: A bassinet with a scissoring frame having upper, lower, and intermediate junctions. The bassinet includes sheeting that is one-piece, that has open and closed ends, and that forms a floor and inside and outside walls. The closed end forms the floor of a flexible wall and floor combination. The sheeting extends in an endless manner from the floor up the inside of the frame to the top of the frame, further extends in an endless manner over the top of the frame to the outside of the frame, and still further extends in an endless manner down the outside of the frame to locations adjacent to the intermediate junctions where the open end of the sheeting is engaged to the frame.

Abstract: A gate within a gate within a barrier. A first, relatively small gate is engaged within a second, relatively large gate, which is engaged in a barrier for extending across a passageway of a residence. The relatively large gate can be closed to, for example, minimize access of toddlers to the passageway, while the relatively small gate can be opened to, for example, maximize access of small dogs to the passageway. One example of a passageway is the head or bottom of a stairway. The relatively large gate, when closed, minimizes toddlers from falling down or climbing up stairs. The relatively small gate, when open, permits small dogs to walk down or climb up the stairs.

Abstract: A barrier for a home is disclosed. The barrier includes two portions that are quickly slideable relative to each other to take expanded and contracted forms. The barrier includes a metal frame and wood panels engaged in the metal frame. Each of the two portions includes at least one wood panel such that, when the barrier portions are slid to and away from each other, the wood panels slide to and away from each other. The barrier includes a corner pet door that opens in the expanded or contracted forms.

Abstract: A gate apparatus that includes a gate, an elongate member or gate base for the ends of the gate, and a stairway post adapter such that a wooden stairway post can serve as a base for a gate without harming the wood of the stairway post. The stairway post adapter includes a vertical or longitudinally running channel for receiving the gate base, a horizontally or laterally extending channel for receiving a strap, and a recess or receptor or face for confronting a section of a stairway post. The gate base includes an upper and lower eyelet. Each of the ends of the gate includes upper and lower pins for engaging the upper and lower eyelets of the gate bases. On the hinge side of the gate, the pins are relatively long and remain in the eyelets as the gate is lifted and swung. On the latch side of the gate, the pins are relatively short such that that latch side of the gate can be lifted and disengaged from the eyelets and then swung open. The gate is extendable and retractable in length, and is reversible.

Abstract: The present gated barrier includes a two step latch apparatus having a pivoting latch release and a slideable latch puller to operate a latch. The latch apparatus housing is engaged over a junction between first and second frame portions to hide the junction from sight, where one frame portion is arched and the other frame portion is straight. The gated barrier further includes vertical tubular frame members with oblong shaped sections, wall cups with front retaining walls, a warning tag engaged between a gate and a nonparallel end frame portion, and a gate frame with interior vertical frame members in a repeating height pattern supporting an upper arch.

Abstract: The present bed rail with offset rails includes a rail portion swingably engaged to first and second leg portions about first and second axis. The rail portion includes first and second end frame portions extending from the first and second axis and defining a plane having a front face and a rear face. The rail portion includes an offset frame portion disposed forwardly of the front face of the plane and spaced from the front face of the plane.

Abstract: A gate latch apparatus is disclosed for a residential safety gate. The gate latch apparatus includes a housing having opposable buttons. The buttons are squeezed to unlock opposing slides. The slides are slid to in turn slide a latch out of a latch receiver to permit the residential safety gate to be opened.

Abstract: A swivel rocker having a swivel rocker frame that in turn includes a rocker frame portion and a swivel frame portion that can induce the three types of motion of swivel or roll, rock or pitch, and spin or yaw. The swivel frame portion can be quickly engaged to and disengaged from the rocker frame portion. Each of the swivel frame portion and rocker frame portion is foldable to a compact form. Each of the swivel frame portion and rocker frame portion includes a hub portion, which hub portions are rotatable relative to each other and lockable relative to each other.

Abstract: The present double door gate apparatus has a first lowermost frame member with a first inner end and a second lowermost frame member with a second inner end. The first and second inner ends are spaced apart and engaged by a first connector that engages exterior portions of the inner ends and a second connector that engages interior portions of the inner ends. First and second gates have inner ends that confront each other more closely than the inner ends of the lowermost frame members confront each other.

Abstract: The present lift lock includes a slide having feet and a slot between the feet, where such slide further includes an interior generally full length wall for acting as a stop, and where such slide further includes gripping ribs that increase in width from the front end of the slide to the rear end of the slide.

Abstract: A horizontally expandable bed rail having a guard rail frame that confronts a first side of a bed to prevent a child from falling out of the bed. The guard rail frame includes a pair of vertical support members interconnected by upper, lower and intermediate horizontal support members that slide horizontally in and out such that the vertical support members have an extended position where the vertical support members are spaced apart by a first distance and a drawn in position where the vertical support members are spaced apart by a second distance that is less than the first distance.

Abstract: The present gate handle includes a push button that is pushed before the gate handle is slid from a closed position to an open position on top of a support member. The support member includes a resilient button that extends into the gate handle and is pushable out of the gate handle by the push button. The support member further includes side slots that are engaged by side slides extending from the handle.
