  • Publication number: 20050048640
Abstract: A clamp includes a hoop section and actuating elements. The hoop section forms a cavity for holding a tubular object. The hoop section has first and second ends. First and second actuating elements are respectively coupled with the first and second ends of the hoop section. Squeezing the ends of the actuating members together causes the hoop section to expand to facilitate installation of the clamp onto an object to be clamped and removal of the clamp from the object. Thus, the clamping force generated by the clamp is limited by the restoring forces inherent in the shape, sized, and material of the hoop section when the actuating members are released. The actuating members include expansion limiting extensions which contact each other after a prescribed amount of expansion of the hoop section to thereby prevent further expansion, and possible yielding, of the hoop section. The clamp can be employed as an anti-rotation device secured to a syringe of a syringe pump.

  • Publication number: 20040117641
Abstract: Computer-implemented methods, apparati, and computer-readable media for blocking the replication of computer worms in a computer (10). A method of the present invention comprises the steps of: for an e-mail program (1) installed on the computer (10), finding (22) the location of a temporary holding area (2) used by the e-mail program (1) for storing and opening e-mail attachments; monitoring (23) the temporary holding area (2) for openings of target programs (3) stored within the temporary holding area (2); and upon the opening of a target program (3) for execution, implementing (24) a worm mitigation procedure.

  • Patent number: 6050322
Abstract: A strip curtain system has an elongated track (10) that has a back side (11) with a bottom flange rail (14) and a front side (12) with a bottom flange rail (14) providing a channel 15. The track back side has a ridge (17) extending above at least a portion of the back side bottom flange. The track front side has a channel access port 22 located in front of the back side ridge. A number of curtain strips (30) have a bifurcated hanger (31) mounted about opposite sides their top ends. The bifurcated hangers have a bottom (37) shaped to be slidably supported upon the track rails and a hang support surface (38) for support upon the track back side ridge.

  • Patent number: 5989215
Abstract: This invention provides a medical device for delivering volumetric quantities of a first and a second biochemically reactive fluid comprising a first container having an opening, the first container being adapted to contain the first biochemically reactive fluid; a second container having a second fluid opening adjacent the first fluid opening, the second container being adapted to contain the second biochemically reactive fluid; a spray unit for separately atomizing the first and second biochemically reactive fluids into an aerosol with at least one energy source of a liquid energy, a mechanical energy, a vibration energy, and an electric energy; a fluid pressurizer for pressurizing the first and the second biochemically reactive fluids for delivery under pressure through the spray unit onto a surface; and wherein the first and second biochemically reactive fluids first mix on the surface.

  • Patent number: 5887916
Abstract: A safety door latch 10 has a base 12 with a shaft 24. A venting disc 30 is rotatably mounted on the base shaft. A lever 50 with a strike locking cam 54 is mounted on the base shaft over the venting disc. Lugs 23, 32 provide for limited relative movements of the locking cam with respect to the venting disc in conjunction with spring bias detenting balls 44.
