  • Publication number: 20150373022
Abstract: A method for providing access to a target electronic device through a first service running on a different electronic device may include receiving in the first service a command directed to the target electronic device from a command sender and receiving in the service device operation status parameters of the target electronic device. The device operation status parameters may include properties of the target electronic device such as a battery level, a battery charging rate, an age, a planned lifespan, a recent wireless usage, an internal temperature, or any of the above in relation to an intervening electronic device over which communication to the target electronic device travels, or any combination thereof. The method may also include using the device operation status parameters to determine, using the service, whether to provide or not to provide an update signal incorporating the command or information to the target electronic device.

  • Publication number: 20150372954
Abstract: Methods, devices, and machine-readable media are provided to perform rule-based rate limiting. As provided in this disclosure, this may include receiving a message en route to a destination, determining one or more parameters of the message, and determining whether the parameters of the message match parameters of a rule that specifies taking a first action when more than some number of messages having those parameters are received within a specific amount of time. When the one or more parameters of the message match the one or more parameters of the first restriction rule, a sliding window counter that indicates a total number of corresponding messages received within the amount of time may be incremented. When the first sliding window counter exceeds the first number of messages, the specified action may be taken.

  • Patent number: 7609651
Abstract: A processor retrieves configuration information (e.g., interoperability rules) indicating acceptable configurations of different types of resources in a storage area network. Based on the retrieved configuration information, the processor generates a set of records. Each record in the set of records includes corresponding identifiers (e.g., numerical integer values) indicating different types of compatible resources associated with a corresponding acceptable storage area network configuration. Each identifier in a respective record maps to a particular manufacturer, model, type, version, etc. of a respective storage area network resource. Consequently, a respective record identifies a group of compatible storage area network resources.

  • Patent number: 7512595
Abstract: A processor (e.g., a search function) searches for particular interoperability records stored in a data structure to identify whether a proposed configuration includes a set of compatible components. For example, a processor receives a query including one or more parameter values identifying a grouping of one or more corresponding unique resources that may or may not be compatible for use in a respective storage area network. Based on receipt of the query, the processor initiates a search with respect to a data structure of interoperability records sorted according to multiple parameter values associated with each respective record. In response to initiating the search, the processor identifies any records in the data structure that include the one or more parameter values identified in the query.

  • Publication number: 20080114339
Abstract: An impeller includes a hub and at least one blade supported by the hub. The impeller has a stored configuration in which the blade is compressed so that its distal end moves towards the hub, and a deployed configuration in which the blade extends away from the hub. The impeller may be part of a pump for pumping fluids, such as pumping blood within a patient. A blood pump may include a cannula having a proximal portion with a fixed diameter, and a distal portion with an expandable diameter. The impeller may reside in the expandable portion of the cannula. The cannula may have a compressed diameter which allows it to be inserted percutaneously into a patient. Once at a desired location, the expandable portion of the cannula may be expanded and the impeller expanded to the deployed configuration. A flexible drive shaft may extend through the cannula for rotationally driving the impeller within the patient's body.

  • Publication number: 20060062672
Abstract: An impeller according to an example of the present invention comprises a hub, and at least one blade supported by the hub. The impeller has a deployed configuration in which the blade extends away from the hub, and a stored configuration in which the impeller is radially compressed, for example by folding the blade towards the hub. The impeller may comprise a plurality of blades, arranged in blade rows, to facilitate radial compression of the blades. The outer edge of a blade may have a winglet, and the base of the blade may have an associated indentation to facilitate folding of the blade.

  • Publication number: 20050087591
Abstract: A collapsible pizza box formed from a blank. The box includes a top, bottom, back and at least three side surfaces. A disposal assisting element formed in at least one of the top, bottom, back and side surfaces enables folding or separation along the disposal assisting element so that the pizza box can be collapsed after use and more easily disposed of.

  • Patent number: 5263603
Abstract: An insulating system for storage tanks uses vertical straps and horizontal cables to form a web on the outer surface of a spherical storage tank. Fasteners and clamps positioned at intervals along the vertical straps anchor the cables in place. Panel sections are positioned transversely to the horizontal cables, the panel sections having opposing side flanges that are folded over flanges on adjoining panel sections as well as the attachment means looped around the cable.

  • Patent number: 4534490
Abstract: An insulated tank jacketing system for storage tank structures of the type used for oil, water, etc., wherein insulated panel systems having upstanding and opposed side flanges are affixed to wire cables or the like on the outside wall of the tank structure by means of a continuous fastener interposed around each cable and positioned between the side flanges of adjacent panels and held in place by having the side flanges of adjacent panels rolled over each other with the fastener being locked within the closure roll thus allowing all component parts of the system, including the cable, to expand and contract relative to each other with no restriction.
