  • Patent number: 6813839
Abstract: A shape cutting system for cutting a material having a surface. The shape cutting system includes a cutting unit and at least one template. The cutting unit includes a frame, a blade adjustment assembly and a blade assembly are couple to the frame. The blade assembly is positioned at least partially within the frame such that a longitudinal axis of the blade assembly is subtantially perpendicular to a lower support surface of the frame. The blade assembly includes a blade retainer and a blade connected to the retainer. The blade adjustment assembly is positioned on a neck which is rotatable relative to the frame. A user is capable of accessing and replacing the blade assembly without altering the position of the blade adjustment assembly relative to the neck.

Abstract: A shape cutting system for cutting a material having a surface. The shape cutting system includes a cutting unit and at least one template. The cutting unit includes a frame, a blade adjustment assembly and a blade assembly are coupled to the frame. The blade assembly is positioned at least partially within the frame such that a longitudinal axis of the blade assembly is substantially perpendicular to a lower support surface of the frame. The blade assembly includes a blade retainer and a blade connected to the retainer. The blade adjustment assembly is positioned on a neck which is rotatable relative to the frame. A user is capable of accessing and replacing the blade assembly without altering the position of the blade adjustment assembly relative to the neck.

  • Publication number: 20040089126
Abstract: A device for cutting pieces of material comprising a base, a bridge assembly and a lever arm. The bridge assembly includes a gear assembly operatively connected to the base. The lever arm is coupled to the gear assembly, and a linking member is coupled to the gear assembly; A material clamp is operatively connected to the linking member, and a cutting blade is operatively connected to the linking member. The movement of the lever arm of the first position towards the second position results in the gear assembly and the linking member cooperating to cause the material clamp to move towards the base and affix the position of pieces of material located between the base and the material clamp. The cutting blade comes into contact with and severs the pieces of material after the position of the pieces of material has been fixed by the material clamp.

  • Publication number: 20030079354
Abstract: A compass, comprising a head portion and first and second leg members. Each of the first and second leg members include a first end and a second end, the first end of the first leg member and the first end of the second leg members are rotatably engaged with the head portion at different locations on the head portion. A post member is meshedly engaged with the first end of the first and second leg members, and an adjusting wheel is threadedly engaged with the post member. The rotation of the adjusting member results in a corresponding movement in the post member. The movement of the post member causes a rotation of the first end of the first leg member relative to the second leg member.

  • Patent number: 6206243
Abstract: A spray bottle for holding and dispensing a liquid comprises a collapsible container for holding the liquid, a spray head for dispensing and atomizing the liquid, and an elongated coupling for securing the spray head to the container and providing a handhold. The container is adapted to be collapsed into a substantially flat panel when empty and to be distended when the bottle is filled with the liquid. With the spray bottles empty and the containers collapsed, a retail display may comprise a plurality of spray bottles. The spray bottles are arranged in at least one row with the containers collapsed such that each spray head is in an abutting relationship with the spray head of at least one adjacent spray bottle.

  • Patent number: 5820221
Abstract: A seat (10) is disclosed that includes a seat back (14) hingedly attached to a seat base (12) such that the seat back can be folded from an upright, vertical position to a closed, horizontal position with the lower surface of the seat back overlying the upper surface of the seat base throughout the seat's range of motion. For ready upholstering, in one embodiment, the foldable seat includes a removable seat base panel (20) and a removable seat back panel (22) attached to the seat base and back, respectively.

  • Patent number: 5466589
Abstract: The present invention is directed to coated substrates having a coating of biological macromolecules, preferably proteins, which are capable of being immobilized on a substrate surface and have a marker. These proteins usually are mutant proteins obtained by mutagenesis of the gene encoding a random positioning protein. When a mutant protein molecule is immobilized on the substrate, the marker of the mutant protein molecule is in a select spatial relationship with both the substrate and the markers of adjacent protein molecules. A substrate coated with an oriented layer of the mutant proteins exhibits improved or different properties when compared to a substrate having a randomly positioned layer of proteins thereon.
