  • Publication number: 20160065722
Abstract: Embodiments are provided for distinguishing certain transportation modes for an electronic device based on connection signal data. According to certain aspects, the electronic device may determine (458) that it is being transported by a vehicle. The electronic device searches or detects (460) nearby WLAN and/or WPAN signals and identifies (464), based on the detected signals, how many devices are nearby the electronic device. The electronic device compares (468) the number of nearby devices to a threshold amount and, based on the comparison, either initiates (472) a public transportation mode or initiates (470) a driving mode.

  • Publication number: 20160036574
Abstract: A system and method for wirelessly communicating into a shielded area are described. In one particular example, a bi-directional amplifier that allows two-way communication into a tunnel is mounted at a tunnel portal and thereby allows RF signals to be exchanged therefrom using a single switched pathway. Ultrafast switching of the amplifier circuit is enabled by a pilot activation signal that serves to remotely switch the operational state of the amplifier from a default first operating mode when no pilot signal is detected to a second operating mode upon detection of the pilot signal, whereby the system is configured for simplex and semi-duplex communications.

  • Publication number: 20150248672
Abstract: The present invention generally relates to authenticating online transactions, and more specifically, to method and system for determining a potentially fraudulent online transaction request based on a risk parameter associated with a user in a networking platform such as, a social networking platform. The method comprises receiving an online transaction request from a user. Thereafter, determining the risk parameter of the user based on one or more profile parameters associated with the user or one or more peer users associated with the user in the community. Based on the risk parameter of the user the online transaction request of the user is authenticated.

  • Patent number: 9097384
Abstract: A lift table provides stability and portability for a radiation measurement scanning system. The lift table may be fixed for radiation measurement or configured for storage. Further, the lift table may be easily disassembled and assembled to allow efficient transporting. The lift table supports a multiple axes scanning system for measuring radiation from a radiation source, such as a linear accelerator (LINAC) and includes a leveling platform, all of which are provided by a desirable weight and portability.

  • Publication number: 20140316893
Abstract: The usefulness, and consequently the performance, of advertisements are improved by allowing businesses to better target their ads to a responsive audience. Location information is determined (or simply accepted) and used. For example, location information may be used in a relevancy determination of an ad. As another example, location information may be used in an attribute (e.g., position) arbitration. Such location information may be associated with price information, such as a maximum price bid. Such location information may be associated with ad performance information. Ad performance information may be tracked on the basis of location information. The content of an ad creative, and/or of a landing page may be selected and/or modified using location information. Tools, such as user interfaces, may be provided to allow a business to enter and/or modify location information. The location information used to target and/or score ads may be, include, or define an area.

  • Publication number: 20140261199
Abstract: Devices and systems for limiting feed volume dispensed into a plurality of tandem feed boot unloaders into one or more feed paths and related methods are disclosed. A core system is provided that are disposed in the feed path through each of the tandem feed boot unloaders in a center portion of an auger supported by a bearing assembly. Feed housings are configured to direct feed into the boot unloaders and into the auger. The feed is moved by the auger as a result of rotation of the auger about the bearing assembly. The core system provided herein limits and regulates the amount of feed that can enter each boot unloader by occupying space within a center portion of the auger that passes through each boot unloader, thus making it less likely that the auger will become clogged and be constrained from moving feed in the feed path.

  • Publication number: 20140222594
Abstract: The DYNAMIC PAYMENT OPTIMIZATION APPARATUSES, METHODS AND SYSTEMS (“DPO”) transform requests for on-demand and flexible monetization and related services via DPO components into currency transfers, purchase receipt notifications, social networking communications and transaction analytics reports. In some embodiments, the DPO obtains a user product purchase request for a user engaged in an online experience at a point of sale device. The DPO parses the user product purchase request, and thereby identifies at least one attribute of at least one of: the user; the online experience; and the point of sale device. The DPO customizes one or more properties of a user interface for initiating a purchase transaction related to the user product purchase request, according to the identified at least one attribute of the user, the online experience or the point of sale device; and providing the customized user interface.

  • Patent number: 8412575
Abstract: Offers, such as bids in an advertising network, may be determined and/or managed by accepting an ad budget and at least one ad serving constraint, and then generating offer information using the ad budget and the serving constraint(s). The offer may be generated by obtaining, for each of the ad serving constraint(s), a plurality of points, wherein each point includes a cost per event value and an event quantity value. These points collectively define a landscape. A convex landscape for each of the ad serving constraint(s) is then determined from the landscape(s). One or more points from at least one of the convex landscapes is then used to generate the offer information.

  • Patent number: 8321179
Abstract: A three dimensional radiation measurement scanning system includes a circular drive operable with horizontal and vertical drives for moving a radiation detector through first, second and third orthogonal axes in a three dimensional scanning of the detector in a water tank. Motor are coupled to the drives and activated by a controller for providing the movement of the radiation detector which providing radiation field sensing signals for locations of the detector throughout the tank. A reference detector is fixed for comparing its radiation field measurements with those of the scanned radiation detector. An offset mount carries the radiation detector allowing it to be extended beyond the circular ring gear during horizontal movement of the radiation detector and thus position the radiation detector at wall surfaces of the water tank.

  • Publication number: 20120209735
Abstract: The FEDERATED THIRD-PARTY AUTHENTICATION APPARATUSES, METHODS AND SYSTEMS (“FPT”) transform user identity information inputs associated with transactions at a merchant server into a user-profile output that is transferred to other merchant websites for facilitating one or more other transactions without the requisite need for full user re-entry of information. In one embodiment, the method includes establishing a first trust indication associated with a first merchant and receiving first user-transaction-related information from a server of the first merchant. A first user-profile is generated for the user based on the first user-transaction-related information. A second trust indication associated with a second merchant is established.

  • Publication number: 20120123924
Abstract: The VIRTUAL CURRENCY CONFIGURATION APPARATUSES, METHODS AND SYSTEMS (“VCC”) transform requests for on-demand and flexible monetization and related services via VCC components into currency transfers, purchase receipt notifications, social networking communications and transaction analytics reports. In some embodiments, the VCC obtains a request to convert a sale price provided in a real currency into a sale price in a virtual currency. The VCC accesses a database to obtain at least one virtual currency management rule provided by a merchant. The VCC identifies one among the at least one obtained virtual currency management rule to apply for converting the sale price provided in the real currency into the sale price in the virtual currency, and calculates the sale price in the virtual currency from the sale price provided in the real currency using the identified virtual currency management rule. The VCC provides the calculated sale price in the virtual currency in response to the request.
