  • Publication number: 20180364606
Abstract: An electrophotographic imager includes a photoconductive element, a charger, and a light source to expose areas of a charged surface of the photoconductive element to form a latent image. A development element is coupled relative to the photoconductive element to develop, via charged marking agent, the latent image on the photoconductive element. An exposure adjustment factor is selectively applied, prior to the exposing, to a first printable area of the latent image.

  • Patent number: 10148982
Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for video stream compression. A motion predicted frame and a current frame of video data are converted from a source color space to a perceptual color space. A delta (?) frame is calculated between the current frame and the motion predicted frame. Input color difference values between the current frame and the motion predicted frame are determined and mapped to a normalized output to create a tone mapped color difference image. The tone mapped color difference image and ? frame are multiplied to obtain a weighted ? frame. ? loss is calculated as the difference between the weighted ? frame and the ? frame. A variance map of the motion predicted frame is multiplied by the ? loss to obtain a ? preservation map. The weighted ? frame and ? preservation map are summed to obtain a modified ? frame which may be transformed, quantized and encoded.

  • Publication number: 20180299020
Abstract: A temperature responsive pressure relief filter vent device for a storage drum having an annular sleeve member composed of a fusible material, such as a polymer or low melt temperature metal. The mating portion of the device is externally threaded and the fusible sleeve member is internally and externally threaded. With this structure, the fusible sleeve is mated with the eternally threaded mating portion and this assembly is then mounted into the threaded opening of a drum, thereby securing the pressure relief device onto the drum. Under elevated temperature conditions, as the temperature of the fusible sleeve approaches or reaches the melting point of the fusible material, the sleeve will soften or melt sufficiently such that pressure buildup within the drum causes the pressure relief device to be expelled from the drum.

  • Patent number: 9850056
Abstract: An ovenable package comprises an ovenable receptacle configured to hold a food product. The receptacle has an open face surrounded by a rim. An ovenable laminated film lid is attached to the rim of the receptacle by a welded seal between a lower face of the laminated film lid and the rim of the receptacle. The laminated film lid comprises a first layer, a second layer above the first layer and a resealable adhesive between the first and second layers. An unopened package is openable by separating the second layer from the first layer in a peripheral region. The opened package can be reclosed to a ventable state by reattaching the second layer to the peripheral region of the first layer by the resealable adhesive. The ventable state permits venting of gas from an interior of the receptacle between the second layer and the peripheral region of the first layer.

  • Publication number: 20170349365
Abstract: A package comprises a container and a wrapper of flexible multi-layer laminate sheet material surrounding the container. The wrapper comprises a first layer and a second layer outside the first layer. A first cut line in the first layer defines a first region of the first layer which overlies a lid of the container. A second cut line in the second layer is offset from the first cut line. The second cut line defines a second region of the second layer. The second region overlies the lid and includes a peripheral portion where the second layer extends beyond the lid. The peripheral portion of the second layer is separable from the first layer and can be used to lift the lid into the open position. The peripheral portion can be resealed against the first layer.

  • Patent number: 9829935
Abstract: In computing scenarios involving multiple computational units, an enclosure (e.g., a rack or server cabinet) may store the units and provide resources such as shared power and network connectivity. Additionally, the components of the units may communicate through a Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) bus, but many such enclosures provide little or no integration with the SAS buses, thus entailing extensive SCSI cabling. Presented herein are architectures for enclosures presenting a set of slots for trays storing respective computing blades, where such trays include SAS connectors that connect directly (i.e., without cabling) with connectors on a midplane that interconnects the blades into a SAS bus featuring at least one integrated SAS expander. Additional architectural variations involve providing SAS expander on one or both of the midplane and the blades; grouping blades into subsets having distinct SAS buses; and interconnecting the SAS buses and expanders of multiple midplanes in the enclosure.

  • Publication number: 20170242467
Abstract: Aspects extend to methods, systems, and computer program products for remediating power loss at a server. Aspects of the invention increase the likelihood of gracefully shutting down a server and associated components in a data center when mains power is lost for a specified amount of time (e.g., an amount of time beyond transition to generator power). A server can include a management module (e.g., a BMC) and a watchdog module. When the management controller detects loss of power at a power supply unit, the management controller orchestrates a graceful shutdown of the server in response to power loss. When the management module is unresponsive, the watchdog module provides backup functionality for orchestrating a graceful shutdown in response to power loss. As such, data can be saved from RAM to more durable storage even when the management module is unresponsive.

  • Patent number: 9729426
Abstract: A method and system that takes advantage of processes that are efficient for determining the topology of small to medium size networks to determine individual network topologies for such networks, and then merges these individual topologies into a consolidated topology for the entire network. Each of the processes that determines the topology of the smaller networks provides the determined network topology, as well as a list of factors that may be relevant in the determination of how the given topology might be attached to any other given topology, such as the identification of a node that is not included in the given topology, or other indications of external connections. The merging process is configured to substantially restrict its analysis to these factors, thereby limiting the extent, and therefore the time consumed, by this stitching and merging process.
