  • Publication number: 20160318059
Abstract: A liquid diffuser includes a base, a liquid reservoir, a spout for resting on the reservoir and having an upper opening, a fan, a polymeric gasket encircling the liquid reservoir, and a cover. The gasket includes a flange extending over a portion of an upper surface of the base that extends laterally beyond the liquid reservoir. The cover is sized and configured to be positioned over and around the liquid reservoir and the spout, and to rest upon the flange of the gasket. Methods of assembling such a liquid diffuser include resting the spout upon the liquid reservoir, and resting the spout upon the flange of the gasket over the base. Method of using such a liquid diffuser include powering a transducer for generating atomized droplets of the liquid, and supplying power to the fan to carry the atomized droplets of the liquid out from the diffuser with forced airflow.

  • Patent number: 9417181
Abstract: A method of determining a density of a roller compacted ribbon is disclosed. The method comprises compacting dry pharmaceutical powder between press rollers of a roller compactor to produce a compact ribbon. The method also comprises determining a thickness at a point on the compact ribbon in a non-invasive manner after it has rolled out from in between the press rollers. Further, the method comprises passing the compact ribbon through a gap in between the terahertz emitter and the terahertz detector. Next, the method comprises determining a refractive index at the point on the compact ribbon using a measurement value from the terahertz emitter and the terahertz detector and a measured value for the thickness at the point. Finally, the method comprises computing a density of the compact ribbon at the point using a value of the refractive index.

  • Patent number: 9397514
Abstract: Various systems, processes, and techniques may be used for converting alternating current power to direct current power for an electro-chemical reactor. In certain implementations, a system and a process may include the ability to receive an alternating current power signal, convert the alternating current signal to a direct current signal, and distribute the direct current signal to at least two power conversion modules coupled to a mounting structure. Each power conversion module may be able to convert a portion of the direct current signal to a high-frequency alternating current signal, adjust the voltage of the high-frequency alternating current signal, convert the voltage-adjusted high-frequency alternating current signal to a direct current power signal, and filter the direct current power signal. The system and the process may include the ability to combine the direct current power signals from the modules into an output direct current power signal for an electro-chemical reactor.

  • Patent number: 9356978
Abstract: Systems and methods for routing activity information related to objects in an external application to activity feeds associated with users in a collaboration group are disclosed. When activity information is received, it is routed to collaboration group feeds and user feeds based on a set of routing tables. The routing tables associated objects with events, containers, collaboration groups, and finally users. Based on the routing tables, users who belong to a collaboration groups that are associated with a particular object may see the activity information about that object rendered in an activity feed if the external application grants them permission to access the object. Accordingly, security associated with the object in the external application can be maintained when event information about that object is shared in an activity feed in a collaboration system.

  • Publication number: 20150323452
Abstract: A method of determining material properties for an object under test is disclosed. The method comprises determining a thickness at a point on the object under test in a non-invasive manner. It also comprises obtaining a terahertz measurement by passing terahertz radiation through the object under test using a terahertz emitter and detecting the terahertz radiation using a terahertz detector. Finally, it comprises determining an optical property at the point on the object under test using a measurement value from the terahertz emitter and the terahertz detector and a measured value for the thickness at the point.

  • Patent number: 8961977
Abstract: The present invention relates to an anti-idiotypic polypeptide scaffold that includes two or more peptide sequences that mimic a discontinuous epitope of a pathogen that is recognized by or induces formation of a broadly neutralizing antibody. Using a fibronectin FNfn10 scaffold bearing two or more modified discontinuous loops, scaffolds that recognize broadly neutralizing antibodies in vitro and from patient serum have been identified. These scaffolds should induce an immune response or mobilize germline specificities to initiate their affinity maturation.

  • Publication number: 20140262507
Abstract: A rotary steerable drilling system that is operable to drill vertical wellbores and automatically maintain a vertical wellbore drilling path. The system includes a control module for operating solenoid valves that control an amount of fluid pressure applied to bias pad piston/cylinders. The control module is operable to determine when the system is deviating from vertical, in what direction the system is deviating, and where the bias pads are in relation to the direction of deviation. Based on these determinations, the control module actuates the requisite bias pads by controlling the amount of fluid pressure applied to the bias pad piston/cylinders to direct the system back to the vertical drilling path.
