  • Publication number: 20220282957
Abstract: This disclosure is directed to an improved ballistic concrete mixture which is operable to be cast in many forms such as blocks. The improved ballistic concrete mixture provides an effective barrier for stopping projectiles with a kinetic energy of between about 1.0 kJ (750 foot-pounds) and 20.3 kJ (15,000 foot-pounds) in between about 3 inches and 10 inches such as a fifty-caliber round. The improved ballistic concrete mixture is useful in the erecting of new structures which need ballistics protection or for retrofitting existing structures with ballistics protection.

  • Publication number: 20220284227
Abstract: A system for customizing media presentation based on user's sentiments is disclosed. The system presents a media item to the user on a platform comprising a website. The system captures a first set of microexpressions of the user reacting to the media item. The system extracts a set of baseline features from the first set of microexpressions. The system determines whether the media item elicits positive or sentiment from the user. If the system determines that the media item elicits positive sentiment from the user, the system classifies the media item into a first class of media items that elicit positive sentiment from the user. The system adjusts contents of the platform to include media items from the first class of media items.

  • Publication number: 20220286430
Abstract: Various methods, apparatuses/systems, and media for implementing a smart failover module is disclosed. A processor detects an application specific system fault or degradation event in a first availability zone (AZ) on which an application is running during normal runtime of the application; determines, in response to detecting the application specific system fault or degradation event, whether the application includes an active-passive application infrastructure in which the first AZ is paired with a passive AZ; enables traffic, in connection with running or deployment of the application, on the passive availability zone in response to determining that the application includes an active-passive application infrastructure; and disables traffic from the first AZ on which the application specific system fault or degradation has been detected in response to determining that the application does not include an active-passive application infrastructure and/or in response to enabling traffic on the passive AZ.

  • Patent number: 11437779
Abstract: Disclosed is a Vernier effect DBR laser that has uniform laser injection current pumping along the length of the laser. The laser can include one or more tuning elements, separate from the laser injection element, and these tuning elements can be used to control the temperature or modal refractive index of one or more sections of the laser. The refractive indices of each diffraction grating can be directly controlled by temperature changes, electro optic effects, or other means through the one or more tuning elements. With direct control of the temperature and/or refractive indices of the diffraction gratings, the uniformly pumped Vernier effect DBR laser can be capable of a wider tuning range. Additionally, uniform pumping of the laser through a single electrode can reduce or eliminate interfacial reflections caused by, for example, gaps between metal contacts atop the laser ridge, which can minimize multi-mode operation and mode hopping.

  • Publication number: 20220263890
Abstract: Various methods, apparatuses/systems, and media for implementing a smart cloud deployment module is disclosed. A datacenter stores information data of all availability zones (AZs) associated with deployment of an application. A processor builds an availability zone (AZ) application programming interface (API) and calls the AZ API to retrieve the information data from the datacenter; dynamically and automatically determines, in response to calling the AZ API, prior to deploying the application, whether a first AZ defined in a deployment pipeline among the AZs within the datacenter is healthy for deployment of the application; and deploys the application utilizing the deployment pipeline when it is determined that the first AZ defined in the deployment pipeline is healthy. The processor also checks for another healthy AZ within the same datacenter or within other regions outside of the datacenter when it is determined that the first AZ is not healthy.

  • Publication number: 20220261674
Abstract: A computer-implemented method can facilitate delivery of targeted content to user devices in situations in which historic tracking data (e.g., cookie data) is generally unavailable and/or unreliable. A p-dimensional embedding of websites can be generated based on a group of user devices for whom tracking data is available. Conversion event data that indicates indicating whether that audience member performed a conversion action can be received. A machine learning model can be trained using the conversion event data and the positions of websites appearing in the conversion event data within the p-dimensional embedding to predict a likelihood of conversion and/or a type of content to provide given a position in the p-dimensional embedding. When an indication that a user device is accessing a website is received, a position of that website in the p-dimensional embedding can be determined and targeted content can be delivered to the user device.

  • Patent number: 11401658
Abstract: Disclosed is a two layered belt useful in the manufacture of tissue products comprising a first woven layer and a second nonwoven layer joined together in a laminated arrangement. The woven layer typically forms the machine contacting layer of the belt and is woven from a highly abrasion resistant material, while the nonwoven layer contacts the nascent tissue web. The woven layer may be provided with valleys and ridges that the nascent web is molded into, while the nonwoven layer may be provided with elements that impart a visually aesthetic pattern to the web. In this manner the belt may be useful in the production of products having desirable physical properties resulting from molding into the woven fabric while also being visually pleasing to the user.

  • Publication number: 20220184839
Abstract: A food product cutting system can include a food product carrier for carrying food product circumferentially around an axis of rotation, where the food product carrier includes food cutters each having a knife and a corresponding pusher. Each knife is for receiving and engaging with food product, and each pusher is slidably coupled with a knife and movable for pushing food product out of engagement with the food cutter. The food product cutting system can also include a track oriented generally circularly with respect to the food product carrier. The track can be arranged at varying radial distances from the axis of rotation and coupled with followers. Each follower can be connected to a corresponding pusher. • Patent number: 11361062
Abstract: A system for identifying a user using microexpressions presents training media items to the user. The system captures a first set of microexpressions of the user in reaction to the training media items. The system, based on the first set of microexpressions, determines baseline features indicating reactions of the user to the training media items. The system presents test media items to a person. The system captures a second set of microexpressions of the person in reaction to the test media items. The system, based on the second set of microexpressions, determines test features indicating reactions of the person to the test media items. The system determines whether the person is the same as the user by comparing the baseline features to the test features. The system determines that the person is the same as the user if the test features correspond to the baseline features.
