  • Publication number: 20200024692
Abstract: A process for producing a metal foam. The process includes mechanically working a metallic powder such that oxide particles and/or dissolved oxygen are finely dispersed within a metallic matrix of the metallic particles that make up the metallic powder. The mechanically worked metallic powder is then annealed in a reducing atmosphere, where the reducing atmosphere is an atmosphere that results in the reduction of oxide and/or dissolved oxygen into vapor or gas molecules such that intraparticle porosity is formed within the metallic matrix by conversion of the oxide particles and/or dissolved oxygen to create vapor or gas molecules.

  • Patent number: 10522915
Abstract: Slotted planar inverted F antennas are provided that can be operated in multiple frequency bands and are usable with electrically small ground planes. The antennas may have multiple planar levels and the impedance of each level (corresponding to a particular frequency band) may be independently adjustable. The antennas may have a self-supporting structure that does not require a separate frame. The antennas may further have a right hand circular polarization hemisphere and a left hand circular polarization hemisphere. Multiple antennas may be situated orthogonally to one another without adversely affecting their performance, due to the hemispherical polarizations, and thereby provide polarization diversity. The number of antennas and associated components used in wireless communications devices may be reduced by using the antennas, as well as reducing the amount of space needed for the antennas.

  • Patent number: 10522706
Abstract: A photosensitive field-effect transistor configured to provide an electrical response when illuminated by electromagnetic radiation incident on the transistor. The photosensitive field-effect transistor comprises a layer of two-dimensional material which forms a horizontal transistor channel configured to transport current, and a horizontal semiconducting layer in contact with the transistor channel. The semiconducting layer comprises two or more assemblies of semiconducting material. If the two-dimensional material in the transistor channel has a high work function, the assemblies of semiconducting material are vertically stacked on the transistor channel in order of decreasing work function. If the two-dimensional material in the transistor channel has a low work function, the assemblies of semiconducting material are vertically stacked on the transistor channel in order of increasing work function.

Abstract: A method for multiple transaction capabilities application part (TCAP) operation code (opcode) screening includes receiving a first SS7 signaling message including multiple TCAP opcodes. The method further includes determining that the first SS7 signaling message requires further processing. The method further includes, in response to determining that the first SS7 signaling message requires further processing, decoding, from the first SS7 signaling message, N TCAP opcodes, where N is an integer of at least two. The method further includes, for each of the N TCAP opcodes, applying a filter and determining that one of the filters indicates that the opcode, alone or in combination with other parameters in the first SS7 signaling message, is not allowed. The method further includes, in response to determining that the one filter indicates that the opcode, alone or in combination with the other parameters is not allowed, performing an SS7 firewall action.

  • Patent number: 10513018
Abstract: An adaptive mechanical joint control and stabilization process and device having particular usefulness in mechanical joints employing U-bolts. The method and device monitors at least two predetermined metrics during a fastener tightening clampload cycle and compares the work expended in achieving a target limit value. Through examining the work expended through the monitored metrics, additional clampload cycles will automatically be run until the monitored work expended for all of the fasteners falls within predetermined values increasing the stabilization of the joint and further advantages of increased residual clampload. The process and device is useful in separating clampload cycles which form or yield the fastener from a final clampload cycle which properly elongates the fastener for a secure clampload and stabilized joint.

  • Publication number: 20190375480
Abstract: An electronic throttle control assembly for a vehicle has a housing that mounts to a handlebar of the vehicle and defines an interior. A rack gear is mounted in the interior for movement in a linear, translational, and/or radial direction. A pinion gear within the interior moves the rack gear upon rotation of the pinion gear. A sensor target is coupled to the rack gear. A sensor detects a position of the sensor target and generates an electric signal for a vehicle control unit. A grip is coupled to the pinion gear, rotation of the grip moving the rack gear and sensor target in a linear, translational, and/or radial direction, the electric signal varying based on the change in position of the sensor target. Opposing springs within the housing resist movement of the rack gear and rest in a normally preloaded state.
