  • Patent number: 7138457
Abstract: A mixture of a polyester, such as poly(ethylene terephthalate) PET, and a suitable stabilizer selected from the group consisting of polyhydric alcohol-containing polymers and copolymers derived from 2-propenoic acid ester monomers, when extrusion compounded exhibits a lower residual acetaldehyde content than does PET alone when similarly treated. The invention pertains to any polyester used in the manufacture of bottles or containers which in turn are used to store consumer materials, especially food, beverages and most especially water.

  • Patent number: 7134411
Abstract: A valve operating mechanism is described for an internal combustion engine in which at least one valve (14) of an engine cylinder is operated by two cams (10,12). The cams (10,12) have respective cam followers (38,36) which are resiliently biased to remain in contact with the cams (10,12) at all times and which act on the valve (14) by way of a summation linkage (20,24) in such a manner that the displacement of the valve (14) at any instant is determined by a combination of the displacements of the two cam followers (38,36). In the invention, movement of each of the two cam followers (38,36) is transmitted to the summation linkage (20,24) by way of a respective one of two pushrods (28,30).

  • Patent number: 7127664
Abstract: The present invention discloses a single unified decoder for performing both convolutional decoding and turbo decoding in the one architecture. The unified decoder can be partitioned dynamically to perform required decoding operations on varying numbers of data streams at different throughput rates. It also supports simultaneous decoding of voice (convolutional decoding) and data (turbo decoding) streams. This invention forms the basis of a decoder that can decode all of the standards for TDMA, IS-95, GSM, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, and CDMA2000. Processors are stacked together and interconnected so that they can perform separately as separate decoders or in harmony as a single high speed decoder. The unified decoder architecture can support multiple data streams and multiple voice streams simultaneously. Furthermore, the decoder can be dynamically partitioned as required to decode voice streams for different standards.

  • Patent number: 7107538
Abstract: Methods, systems, and schema are provided for enforcing security on an attribute of an object. An instance of an object is created or modified using the schema where a number of the attributes for the object include descriptors. The attributes of the created or modified object are checked to ensure that the modifier has access rights to the attributes. If the modifier does not have the access rights, then values are not assigned to the attributes requested by the modifier. When the modifier provides values for an attribute having the corresponding descriptor, the values are also checked to determine if they are references to a second object. In which case, a check is made to ensure the modifier has an access right to the second object. If no such access right exists, then the values are not assigned to the attribute as originally requested by the modifier.

  • Patent number: 7107509
Abstract: A Log Map processor that processes information in accordance with the Log MAP algorithm using an N-state Radix-K trellis where K is an integer equal to 4 or greater and N is an integer equal to 2 or greater. The Log Map processor comprises branch and path metric calculators designed with LogSum operators. The LogSum operators used and Add-Compare-Select architecture that is based on an approximation of the Jacobian definition of the LogSum operation. The Log Map processor is thus able to process relatively more information per unit time.

  • Patent number: 7096772
Abstract: A method of flowing hydraulic fluid in a work machine is disclosed. The method includes generating a control signal from an input mechanism and generating a property signal indicative of a viscosity of the hydraulic fluid. The control signal and the property signal are received at a control module. The method also includes determining a desired volume flow rate for the control signal and determining a valve control signal required to achieve the desired volume flow rate for the control signal. The valve control signal is based upon the property signal. The valve control signal is output to a proportional valve to provide the desired volume flow rate through the valve for the command signal.

  • Patent number: 7095523
Abstract: A flexible and extensible virtual printer architecture is provided. According to one aspect of the present invention final status associated with a presentation job (e.g., a fax job or a print job) is made available to an output server. One or more host processing threads or processes are spawned for each new presentation job received by the output server. Then, the presentation job is submitted to a presentation device for which the presentation job is destined by way of an instance of a wrapper process that is capable of communicating bi-directionally with the presentation device. After submitting the presentation job, a host job status thread or process waits for status pertaining to the presentation job. Ultimately, a final status associated with the presentation job is received by the wrapper process and the wrapper process reports the final status to the host job status thread or process. According to another aspect of the present invention, job and device status may be reported asynchronously.

  • Patent number: 7066224
Abstract: A mobile saw bench is designed for cutting elongate workpieces such as elongate open or closed steel sections. The mobile saw bench comprises a base structure which is mounted on four castor wheels. Formed continuous with the base structure is an intervening frame structure to which a benchtop is mounted. The saw is appropriately mounted to the benchtop to permit cutting of a workpiece which is located thereon. Importantly, the mobile saw bench further comprises a universal coupling. The universal coupling is mounted to an underside of the benchtop and is releasable clamped to an elongate member which is in the form of a rigid measuring staff. The universal coupling allows pivotal movement of the benchtop relative to the measuring staff which is stationary.

  • Patent number: 7065452
Abstract: The present invention relates to crystallized molecules and molecular complexes which comprise the active site binding pocket or the FKBP12/FK506 binding pocket of calcineurin or close structural homologues to either binding pocket. This invention also relates to a data storage material encoded with the corresponding structure coordinates of those crystallized molecules or molecular complexes. Such data storage material is capable of displaying such molecules and molecular complexes as a graphical three-dimensional representation on a computer screen. In addition, this invention relates to methods of using the structure coordinates of those molecules or molecular complexes to solve the structure of homologous proteins. This invention also relates to methods of using the structure coordinates to screen and design compounds that bind to calcineurin or homologues thereof.
