Abstract: Nutritional formulations and methods for imparting positive health benefits to a subject are disclosed and described. In particular, methods and nutritional formulations for providing increased absorption of antioxidants are taught. In some aspects, the nutritional formulation can include Gac fruit extract in combination with at least one other antioxidant. Such nutritional formulations can in some respects produce enhanced or synergistic results with respect to the amount of antioxidants absorbed by a subject.

Abstract: Methods for the preparation of nanosized nutrient formulations for enhanced absorption of nutritional agents. The methods include the complexation of cyclodextrin with carotenoids and incorporation of the complexes into the nutritional supplements without intermediate collection, isolation, and drying steps.

Abstract: A flash chamber having a self-closing valve for use with a catheter is described. The flash chamber, which is connected to the catheter, precludes blood leakage as a needle is removed from the catheter and an IV unit is coupled to the catheter. The flash chamber permits the practitioner to visually verify that a blood vessel has been punctured and includes a self-sealing valve that prevents blood from flowing out of the flash chamber as the needle is removed and the IV unit is attached.

Abstract: A valve device for medical fluid transfer and methodology utilizing the valve device provides a multi-purpose needle free valve assembly and bottle or IV port adapters for multiple medical use requirements. The adapters being suitable for insertion into IV ports, medicine bottles or vials and IV luer lock connectors. The valve device assembly for fluid transfer is used within administration structures for medical purposes utilizing a needle free syringe as the transfer apparatus, the needle free syringe being mateable with the valve device assembly in a first connector and when inserted, the syringe tip opens the valve by compression of the valve head or piston and valve springs allowing for two-way communication between the barrel of the needle free syringe and the IV ports, medicinal bottles or vials and IV luer lock connectors.

Abstract: An escalator or travelator is provided with a plurality of advertising signs on the riser or step of the escalator or travelator. The sign is provided with a transparent cover which is positioned on the step so as to not interfere with the relative movement of adjacent steps on the escalator/travelator or the cyclic movement of the escalator/travelator itself.
